Forums - Gaming - Is Watch Dogs it for Wii U 3rd Party?

Could Watch Dogs be the final game for Wii U that's by a 3rd party company other than Sega? Skylanders will show up for sure too and maybe some other Activision titles, but is this the last AAA 3rd party game for Wii U? If Watch Dogs succeeds, I'm sure not only will Ubisoft bring some more games, but hopefully other companies will and sales will be high for all. But if this bombs, not talking about the first week but the long run, what will become of Wii U? 3rd party support lower than N64?

Thanks for all the great memories!

Ubisoft has no E3 announcement for the Wii U, so unless there is an undisclosed partnership for a game then you should not expect any more games from them, whether Watch Dogs does well for the system or not (Which it wont) and yes outside movie tie in and kid games, there will be little in the way of 3rd party support that Nintendo does not fit the bill for.

I certainly hope not, nor do I expect Watch Dogs to be "it". However, any 3rd party titles will be disappointingly few and far between.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

That's impossible. With Nintendo collaborations with other studios will ensure third party support. Hell, Bayonetta 2 is being made by a third party.

Cod Maybe but I doubt watch dogs will even make it least from the western front... Japanese on the other hand... That might be a different story

As far as big "AAA" third party games go it may well be, with cross-gen ports slowly dwindling so goes much of the support the wii u will receive. Though I imagine it will still receive ports of less ambitious games, tie-ins, party games and the like.

If you are talking about huge 3rd party titles probably yes. But there will be still cooperations with other studios and projects which are designed for the typical Nintendo target group. Yes, I am talking about children.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

To just answer the question, yes, i believe WD is it, no more (new) big 3rd party multiplats much less exclusives in the foreseeable future at least. Hope i'm wrong because i like nintendo and think Iwata is a really nice guy

I'm pretty sure WD for WiiU is cancelled. So yes seems to be the answer :(.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

The Wii U is still a great console.

Regardless of 3rd party support.

Maybe their next console if Nintendo does the right moves they will go back
