Yes people have, and I think you misunderstand how things like this work. The Playstation brand wouldn't just walk off on it's own and be fine if Sony went under. It wouldn't "be fine." It would need a new source of income, and someone willing to invest the billions of dollars it takes to keep the brand moving. Even if someone was actually make that kind of monetary commitment, and it would take years, they'd have their own agenda that may not be in line with Playstation fans. And that's if the division wasn't auctioned off in parts. Sony flopping would be desasterous for Playstation.

Saying that the PS4 devision will keep Sony afloat would be ignorant. Who has ever said that?

Regarding your "The Playstation brand wouldn't just walk off on it's own and be fine if Sony went under" I don't even remotely think it would be impossible for Sony to spin off (like Bravia) or sell (like Vaio) the PS division.

PlayStation is profitable and it already operates as an independent American company: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnp6nrLVzdA

"banking and insurance"

Who would have thought these are Sony's two best business ventures???

I say this because music and movie are very fickle and are a roller coaster of profit and loss.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I see some real tough moves coming in the next 6-12 months. Many jobs will be lost, but he is right, at this point they just need to show results.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Okay I believe you.

For the money and featuresets, Sony TVs have been subpar to several other major brands for many years now. They def need to get out of TV.
