Forums - Gaming - If the Nintendo oracles knew that the Wii U would be a failure from the start, why are they upset about lack of 3rd party support...

I dont think i have ever seen any of those you mentioned claim of conspiracies against Nintendo,
I think that only comes from forums like this one, and you are fuelling that fire.

No matter what console Nintendo put out after the Wii, it would be deemed "a failure" due to the rough relationships that developed during the last couple years of the Wii's lifetime.

3rd parties were kind of alienated by both Nintendo and the consumers.
Nintendo attempted to remedy this, and was promised "unprecedented support" for the WiiU from companies like EA, who quickly dropped all support for said console. A bit of a stab in the back - but not a conspiracy.

I still have a backlog from previous gen due to brawl, 3rd party would only make this bigger

"By the way you don't need to be an oracle to see that the Wii U is a piece of shit"  I think you kinda do.  I have a Wii U and I believe it to be fine and im sure if you were to ask the majority of Wii U owners they would say the same.

Those calling it a piece of shit (which you question why they would purchase one in the first place) tend to be the ones upset that there is little to no 3rd party support on it.

And an example of such person is who?

I am still struggling to think of any person for who your outlined premise holds true.

No one individual, just people with random screen names from different sites I go to.  Usually when one game X is announced and no Wii U version is mentioned.

Unless you have one of said oracles here to reply, such as John Lucas, the thread seems pointless. Asking why they are upset is a question only they can answer. Any response answering the question, from anyone else, is meaningless.

I think you got it backwards buddy, John Lucas never predicted the Wii U would be an underachiever. He said the console would go on to sell 200M units.

By the way you don't need to be an oracle to see that the Wii U is a piece of shit. It just takes a little bit of brain cell usage.

As for complaints on the lack of third party software? I think you got it backwards too. I never saw Maelstrom complaining about the lack of third party support. Rather he says it's a consequence of the Wii U being a piece of shit.

It's okay though, everyone makes mistakes Train wreck. It's good that your username reflects your posts though, that's one thing you got right.

By the way, that person you don't want to mention I guess it's gotta be Rol right?

I mention John Lucas, Emily Rodgers and Maelstrom as individuals who believe they somehow know whats best and whats not for Nintendo and two of the three (Maelstrom and Emily) mentioned that the Wii U will have a difficult time.

"Rather he says it's a consequence of the Wii U being a piece of shit"  So im sure he and the other oracles would have believed that 3rd parties would be there if the Wii U was a success?

John Lucas has nothing to do with those two, "oracle" isn't the word I would use to describe him.

Send Maelstrom an email and ask him.

This is a common fallacy on the Internet. A bunch of people say this and a bunch of people say that.

Why can't Bunch of People ever get his story straight?! Always contradicting himself.

for said Wii U?

For the purposes of this thread, Nintendo oracles are individuals who want to believe they have an omnipresense view on all things Nintendo.  They are the Sean Malstroms, John Lucases, Emily Rodgers and individuals on this site who shall remain nameless.

The Nintendo oracles shouted from on high that the Wii U will be a massive underachiever but 18 months in, a select few still hold a grudge against those companies who do not want to partake in said underachievement.  They write of media, print and web conspiracies, secret socities and 32mb of edram.  3rd parties have, over time, built their business to not rely on just one platform so continually looking to avoid the system makes sense.  Why waste money, time and resources supporting a platform when im sure these 3rd parties had the same forsight as the almighty Nintendo oracles?

And not turn this into a instant off topic situation, any mention of competitors systems (including handhelds) will be reported.

Does the bolded include you?  Even if said people existed or were here you have eliminated (via the bolded) them from comparing and contrasting or using sales in their discussion.  This seems very disingenuous, assuming you even wanted proper discussion.  Also you brought up rival 3rd parties going to rival platforms and Nintendo fans being angry.  This is a universal mindset amongst all fanbases so I don't see the reason to solely persecute the Nintendo fanbase for it.

John Lucas doesn't even qualify for this thread. Remember, he didn't believe that the Wii U would flop. Not even one year of bad sales could change his mind.

Indeed, I simply use his name because TW is asking why does XXX person feel upset.  None of us have any idea why, or even if they are upset.  I know of no one on here that is both someone who predicted poor sales AND is upset about poor 3rd party support.

I'm sure those individuals exist (maybe not here) and in my attempt to make a somewhat tongue-in-cheek thread, it did not come out as I hoped.  Im sure 3rd parties (in quantity and quantity) would have weavered on the Wii U whether it was predeterminted to be successful or not.

Well, to be fair, although Malstrom is often full of BS (as much as he is full of himself), he was right about both Wii and WiiU, so Oracle might be fairly reasonable way to describe him, a least when it comes to Nintendo.

As for this site - there is quite a bit of those that believe that almost anything Nintendo is doing is godsend - so they are more of Witnesses I guess - I'd say it's mostly them that are "upset" (or whatever else they are) about 3rd parties.
