Forums - Gaming - a retail game is necessary more ambitious than a indie/digital game ?

Wright : True, most people are like " digital game ?  I prefer ambitious retail game "

What indie retail games do you know except Minecraft ?

Heavy Rain, for example.

Heavy Rain ? But it's funded by sony. So you think every game made by an independant dev using a publisher to fund the game is an indie game, whatever the cost ? That would give an other definition to indie, even Destiny could be seen as indie because Bungie is independant i think

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Didn't Heavy Rain funded only marketing? Heavy Rain itself was builded from scratch by Quantic Dreams alone. Hence, indie.

From what I can gather from a quick googling Sony picked it up very early on and fully funded the game By the time they showed the first tech demo back in 2006 it was a Sony exclusive. And they originally were planning it as a PC game with Ageia PhysX (before Nvidia brought them) before they shopped it to publishers. I doubt they would have made it PS3 exclusive and let Sony own the IP early in development if Sony weren't footing the bill for development.

So not indie
