Can Ubisoft relese a console?

I think they can. I'm not quite sure about Ubisoft's finacials, but I still think they can do it.

I mean Ubisoft has enough game franchises, Rayman, Tom Clancy games, Watch_Dogs may become a franchise, and Assassin's Creed (hell, I think Assassin's Creed could be enough to persuade  1- 2 million people to but a Ubisoft console), etc. I think that the 3rd parties would support a Ubisoft console.

EA would release the yearly sports games, Activision would release the Call of Duty games, and I'm sure companies like Capcom and Konami would release the games that are on Sony and Microsoft consoles on a Ubisoft box.

Ubisoft has enough creative studios that they could create even more IPs that may intrest a lot of people.

But yeah, I don't know if Ubisoft would even want to release their own console, but do you want them? Would you buy a $400- $500 Ubisoft console? I mean I'm starting to get tired of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, and I think that a new company should release a console. A new company with a different take on console gaming.

Come on Yves! You know a Ubisoft box would be awesome!

If they want to be 1st party yes.
i doubt it

Nope and if they do, it will be a flop... The question is, would it flop harder than the Ouya or the Virtual Boy

If they want to bleed money then sure. Being a console maker isn't exactly the most profitable venue at the moment.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Nope. Ubisoft is a major competitor with EA, Activision, and 2K, so I doubt those companies would be keen on developing for a rival's console.

Plus Assassin's Creed and Far Cry aren't enough to sell a console.

If they want to burn themselves to the ground then this would certainly be an effective method of doing so.

Ubisoft isn't exactly big enough to support their own console and there would be alot of other issues too ...

If one third party could be successful as a console developer, it'd be EA imo.

I can imagine Ubisoft CEO's in a office discussing

"How can be waste the most money in the shortest amount of time possible"
"I know! Let's make a console"

I think it makes more sense for Ubisoft to remain a publisher and avoid the financial burden of researching, developing, and selling a new console in an already crowded market.

That being said, I would buy it day one if it launched with Beyond Good & Evil 2.
