Forums - Microsoft - Layoffs hit Rare following Kinect Sports Rivals flop

Now that Kinect becomes an optional add-on, Kinect Sports Rivals will probably become what Kinect Adventures was for Kinect 1: A game you get bundled for free when buying a hardware add-on, because nobody would buy it otherwise.

But even as a forced and unavoidable bonus to a hardware addon, I still doubt that it will sell 4 million by the end of the year, as some people claimed.

Around the Network

Well M$ owns all of Rare's IPs at the moment, correct? So why don't they bring in different dev teams to tackle some of those long dormant IPs the same way Double Helix did for the KI reboot, which turned out way better than anyone anticipated.

Speaks volumes that the best "Rare" game of the last decade wasn't even developed by Rare...

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
