Agree with all the naughty dog points. But I dont agree with the point you made about Bethesda. IMO Bethesda makes large open world game with "basic" gameplay with average leveling system. Especially in gameplay department they dont excel (I dont like elder scorlls and fallout seires). But I liked dishonored for its fluidity.

That's where mods come in (at least for me, since I play them on PC). Skyrim with gameplay mods is challenging, and no one makes more immersive open-worlds than Bethesda. They are the best game dev in terms of capturing atmosphere and building lore, imo.

Edit: 1000th post! w00t!

Agreed. Mods improve games. But those improved version's credit goes to modders not to bethesda.

Very true. But Bethesda is one of the most open devs when it comes to modding, so in a way you have to give them a little credit.

Well, in this alternate world where LoD got a sequel and it was successful, the series would continue. And it can't keep spawning direct sequels forever, it will have to use different settings and characters eventually. And FF13's plot ended in the first game, the sequels shouldn't exist really. Granted, I haven't played them, but I doubt I'll enjoy them as much as XIII.

So a FF approach seems like the best solution really, after a prequel. At least a Zelda approach.

Well, FF 13-2 story was way to forced, and complicated (if you already think that 13 was complicated...), but executed nicely.
The game plays way better than 13, but the story fades if comparated to 13.

And even I being probably one of the people who likes LoD the most, I don't think it should take that route just to stay releasing new games.
A trilogy is already ok. With a sequel and the prequel (and the remake too, all quality games).
I would like to see Dart and Shana kids becoming the Dragoons, something happening and they have to act, or the same dragoons having to go against some new problem or something, but not that much more, one sequel seems ok.
But absolutely no other worlds/dimensions in the series of the dragoon, maybe it can become The Legend of "insert another thing here" and then yes, keep going forever with news legends, but The Legend of Dragoon has to stay as it is, with just something more (because I love it xD).
I would say that it can take the way of "Tales of" series more than FF series, and become "Legend of" series.
^~^

Just semantics really. I don't see a huge difference between the Tales of approach and the FF approach other than a number. Ok, I'll give you this: changing the word allows it to tell a story about something else other than dragons. I think that's what you mean then?

Nintendo putting up a fight with the WiiU for a chance.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Ultimate E3 wish? Probably an announcement that Nintendo has bought all of the old Rare IPs off Microsoft, and has enlisted the help of Warren Spector, Michel Ancel, and Crytek UK, along with Retro and Platinum Studios to make games for those various franchises (Platinum could have Conker, Michel Ancel could have Banjo, Spector could work with various older franchises, Crytek could work on Perfect Dark, and Retro could be offered their choice from any of the franchises).

In the more realistic category, an announcement that Nintendo has had various third parties holding back on announcements of their Wii U exclusive titles, including various franchises that people thought were on the backburner. Part of the deal involved was that every Wii U would ship with a download code for a non-Nintendo title of the customer's choice.

Into the category of actually realistic, there's an announcement of Mario & Sonic Adventure, for release in early 2015 (to avoid conflicting with Sonic Boom and Mario Galaxy U).
