Cassette tapes never went anywhere because they always have, and always will offer vastly superior storage capabilities. When I worked in IT I never performed a data backup on anything other than tapes. Just throw one in when you walk through the door and haul it out when heading out on break, hundreds of gigs saved hassle free.
