I wanna hear crowd reactions, so no I don't a digital event.
I just want the conference to be streamable and downloadable on my console in HD. That's it.
if i was there, i would like conference.
since im not there, i dont care.
is like a, lets say michael jackson concert.
id like to be there.
but if you are not there, you would like to see the dvd of the live show or see the clips dvd?
They're not really "conferences" in the first place anyways. They're live presentations. A bunch of presenters come on stage and showcase their products. I have never seen the media ask the people that come on stage questions after they've presented what they wanted to show.
As for them doing a prerecorded presentation vs. live. I view it as a great live presentation will always trump a great prerecorded presentation because the live presentation involves showmanship and involves the audience better than a great prerecorded presentation. You get reactions like last year's E3 where Tretton was about to speak but decided to let the audience continue its applause. You don't get that in a prerecorded event. However a poorly done live presentation is awful, awkward, and uncomfortable to watch. It's like a high risk, high reward type of situation.
Sony and Microsoft have been pretty good with their live presentations so far so I'd like them to continue it that way. However, I wouldn't mind a prerecorded event if it meant a better "conference".

I'm definitely excited by the possibilities of the digital event. Hopefully they'll put some production value into it and do something that will gain attention.
On a side note, I've personally never gotten excited for something just because I hear people clapping for it. I'm either excited for a game or not. And judging by sales of 3D World compaired to Killzone Shadow Fall and Infamous SS (individually), the gaming community doesn't seems to care all that much either. (3D World selling more with a smaller install base.)
I hate live conferences... crowd reactions piss me off... makes the presentations longer than they should be. Just show me your stuff and go away, I will decide if I pay for it, I will decide whether it's good or not. If your excitement of a product is derived from the reaction of the crowd then you have some shallow ideals in life... but that's my opinion

That's how I decide all my software purchases, lol. *sarcasm*
