So no Crash?

Seems like I'm gonna buy a PS4 in late 2015.

So it sounds like DriveClub (supposed to ship last year) and The Order are the only two certain games for this year... Possibly Last Guardian as well, with some downloadables such as Wipeout and a Syphon Filter reboot... The is not a strong 2014 holiday lineup. Don't forget to queue the recycled PC Indie games.

And if they only have a CG for GoW IV then there is no hope of it shipping in 2015. It will be a 2016 title. Only CG means they don't have a game to show yet.

2015-16 looks like where it is at with PS4. By then the console will be $299.

I'm glad I got my PS4 for $200. Because if I paid $400 I would've probably slit my wristsafter reading the OP. As with last gen, Sony is not starting out with an amazing lineup of games. Outside of the few weeks after launch my PS4 has been turned on to do updates and make sure I get the free indie games. Unfotunately, I am neither a baseball fan nor an infamous fan, and I buy indie games for my PC. That leaves me in the middle of the desert without water until the recycling of TLOU (which I will buy without a doubt on Day 1).

I hate it when console vendors focus on games that are over a year down the road... To me, that's like telling me to buy the console, games will come later... Why pay $400 for the console when I can wait a year, get it for $300 and get the must have games as they come out. I really hope this is not how E3 will be for Sony (and Microsoft for that matter). E3 will be a major disappointment if it is.

Also, I don't like the gauging of MS showings... You either have content to show (and you should show me it all or you don't have content to show. It is good business on their part, but from a consumer point of view that is wrong on every level.

Why would Syphon Filter reboot be relegated to a download? The series used to be a full fledged title you know. If Sony is giving Bend the same treatment as Ready at Dawn, it will be a AAA.

and I don't know what some of these early adopters expected from PS4 and XBO, they have more games now than any console launch, and ones with far bigger track record. We usually get a ton of D-Class games so you have to scrape the bottom for the AAA. All these games seem to be AA-AAA ordeals. Some of you expect 20 exclusives every 2mins, get real you ask for far too much. Be patient or don't buy into new devices till they have games you want. There will also be a plethora of Multiplats and Indie games that are plenty good, they shouldn't be invisible just cuz they are on the other system. Sony still has what many to believe the stronger exclusive library AND the multiplats/indies.

More than 7 AAA exclusives in a year is rare. Infamous SS, DriveClub,TLoU Remastered, The Order, Syphon Filter, The Last Guardian would be more than enough.

When you take a game like TLOU and put new makeup on it that doesn't make it a new game.  DriveClub should've been out last year (Sony is very good at marketing stuff so that it counts as being out two years...).  Syphon Filter reboot will be a downloadable game (I think, and yes I know it used to be a full title)...  inFamous will only get new DLC at E3, so we are down to The Order and maybe Last Guardian.

I'm not saying the games aren't decent, I'm just saying that if E3 is just a marketing exercise for the whole generation (or at least the first few years of it) that will be disappointing.  People are hyping as if it is some amazing set of announcements, when really what it is, is a set of announcements for the next three years.

I'm not here to pretend stuff like TLOU Remastered  or GT6 Remastered are new games, but their is def a market for them when they are late PS3 titles that many missed entirely due to getting PS4. Both also have really high selling potential, probably the MOST sony has to offer right now. Driveclub may be a delay from last year.....but we are talking November last year. It will still be releasing in PS4's first full year on the market. It is also still a new IP that they are taking a chance on rather than going with something they already know works like Motorstorm.

2-3 new IPs is plenty for a single year from the same studio (Sony). If you can name me one studio that is betting all their eggs on new IPs in a single year I will eat my shoe. This market is funded by people's willingness to buy into series they are used to. Sure, sequelitus is a serious problem today, but to never have sequels would be horrible for the industry.

If these E3 rumors are true its not just for whats coming in the next year. Like the rumor says, Syphon Filter could be this year, etc, etc. I listed 6 AAA titles that are coming to PS4 within it's first year, thats not including KZ Shadow Fall , MLB 14 The Show, and Knack(quality aside) which brings it to 9 Exclusive AAA Games from Sony. PS4 also has several 3rd Party titles as "Next Gen PS4 Exclusives" like FFXIV, Warframe, Blacklight Retribution, Planetside 2, Bound by Flames, Injustice:Ultimate Edition,Diablo III, etc. Then you have your big budget MultiPlats: Destiny, Dragon Age:Inquisition, COD Advance Warfare, Tomb Raider Definitive, Watch Dogs, GTAV Remasterd(?), Madden,NHL, AC Unity, Elder Scrolls Online, UFC, Amazing Spiderman 2, Murdered:Soul Suspect, Wolfenstein, Evolve, Middle Earth:Shadow of Mordor, Batman Arkham Knight, Dying Light.................I won't even go into the Indies

Sorry to bombard you with lists but I am just trying to wrap my head around how PS4(or XBO for that matter) are lacking in interesting software. If these E3 rumors are ture its just cementing the fact we are blessed with many great games for this year and those to come. Nothing boring about it.

Greatness Awaits

PSN:Forevercloud (looking for Soul Sacrifice Partners!!!)

Yea, too good to be true but not completely unrealistic.

Oh more sequels and ports! I'm sorry, I'm having a tough time being impressed by this. Though if this were real, this could be the finishing blow to MS and Nintendo, and secure Sony's third victory.

3DS I.D : 3282-2755-4646

I make bad threads.

SSB really went downhill after Melee....

Manlet Crew

Please let Wipeout be true :) I would play GT6 again on ps4 as well.
Project beast, The last Guardian could it really be true...

Tidux has confirmed some things on twitter:

  • Uncharted PS4 3 minute trailer showcasing.
  • The Order: 1886 stage demo.
  • Sony Japan debuting 2, possibly 3 games.
  • Evolution will give Driveclub some time.
  • Guerrilla Games will attend E3 with their new game.

He will confirm/debunk more today.

Syphon filter reboot? New wipeout? The last guardian?

Nonono... just stop it! My heart cant take that.

Though there is something that it does. Stealing Media molecule resources to work on morpheus. Is Sony really gonna go ahead with it? Sigh... Resources would be put to better use making a Tearaway 2 for the Vita.

Only realistic part of this is that Sony will ignore the Vita.

Vita has had lots of announcements lately and apparantly more to come. No one can realisticly expect Sony to say anything about Vita this year (except that they have games coming). Besides its the US, the worst Vita market. The focus will be and needs to be on PS4.

More Vita stuff is more likely to come on gamescom with localisation announcements and Shahid showing us he delivered and in TGS where the Japanese will certaily have new stuff with the spurt of Vita sales. US and E3 is a lost case.

If half of this becomes reality I'll be happy. People forget how most of pre-E3 rumours are just more or less well thought fan illusions and if you believe them, you'll get dissapointed.
