It's true that a well marketed game can sell great at whatever time it's released. The examples you listed though all had several factors going for them though. The Last of Us was a game made by Naughty Dog, arguably the best developers in the world, during a time when no games were coming with tons of marketing and ended up a masterpiece. GTA V is beast unlike any other and GOW is an established franchise. Horizon, I think, would benefit being released in Spring.
But I do agree that I hope they finish the game in time for Spring 2016. It would be an awesome time to release it, but if they can't and need more time that's perfectly fine.

i doubt TGS would be the stage to announce GT7. the western market doesnt may attention to TGS other than those interested in japanese games. Either PSX event or E3.

Well we know Level-5 will be there so that's one new IP, so maybe there's more than two that will be revealed. I don't expect GG or MM to show at E3, I think we have a better chance of seeing them at Gamescom.

The first GoW released in spring too, and sold shit loads 
it was one of those games that proved that released a game in that time frame can still sell A LOT of untis. also, Watch Dogs released in May, it was a new IP, sold 10 million units so far. to put that into perspective, it sold faster than Red Dead Redemption. (which BTW also sold in may, and sold 12.5 million so far)

i really really doubt they would bump GT7 out of the way for uncharted. the two releasing this holiday season would be crazy for PS4 sales. specially with a price cut.

if GT7 and Uncharted are BOTH coming out this year, it means thats sony's holiday lineup for the year. and i dont care about GT7, i am really really hoping for Sony Bends new IP to be their other holiday release for the year.
