Forums - Nintendo - If Watch Dogs Wii U edition pushes over 100,000 FW globally, will Ubisoft and "You all" be happy?

100K first week might be possible if they really push the game but 1M lifetime is flat-out impossible. If you look at the 3DS by comparison, the best-selling third-party game that didn't get like 90+% in Japan (where 3DS is set to dominate the 8th gen entirely) is KH3D, which has 1.32M.

I'd be happy but Ubisoft? I'm not so sure. I hope it does well, I will be purchasing the Wii U version as well as the ps4 version.

I don't see why Ubisoft wouldn't be happy if this game debuts far higher on the Wii U than did AC3 Nad AC4.

I'm going to hold you to this...

How? There's no way to confirm this that isn't incredibly awkward.

100k first week for this game would be bad bad. 200-300k with deent following weeks

this, 100k first week aint nothing to be proud of for a game like this. Hell i think every other version have more in preorders alone sans PC

100k first week is an ok number for any multiplatform ever. in this situation, it's a great number.

for a game with this kinda hype? nope, but believe what you want

Is very much of that hype for the Wii U version?

Like I said on another thread. Watch Dogs won't be released on Wii U. NEVER EVER. Deal with it

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

100k is way too high, I'm thinking maybe 30k FW?

Thats where it is at with pre orders currently....

Expect many to be cancled when its announced for 2015 :p

But seriously, I don't see who will be buying this game for the Wii U other then hardcore Ninty fans who want to support 3rd party titles. Its genuine audience will have all got it for another platform, maybe a small portion will wait to see the gamepad functionality but they won't be more then 100k large and they certainly won't all buy it on its first week.

100k lifetime is too low. ACIII And ACIV did more than 200K and those games had far less hype and had their audience long established on other platforms.

Oh definitely, I didn't mean 100k lifetime. I meant there are probably around 100k Wii U owners consciously waiting to get it. The rest of the sales will come from casual gamers who decide to check it out, impulse purchases, holiday gifts, new Wii U owners who just to add something different to their collection of mario kart etc

I think it will do between 300-400k

100K LT is already a dream-like performance

Not even Call of duty was able to do that on wii u,so watch dogs won't do that don't have.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Sorry for the misunderstanding then =).

Personally I was considering getting this for the Wii U but the long delay for the main versions (and the further delay for the Wii U version) is killing my interest. Not to mention it'll probably now clash with the release of first-party NIntendo titles which people care more about. If Nintendo wants people to buy this version, then they need to help in marketing it. Sales for third-party games on Nintendo platforms (handheld and console) would be quite a bit better.
