Forums - Gaming - Three weeks to go: where is the Mario Kart advertising blitz?

maybe Ninty just doenst have the capital to do an extensive marketing campaign, like say i dont know Call of Duty, which is ironic because im starging at the damn ads right now for a game that doesnt come out till November. Hell ill probably see more COD ads than Mario Kart between now and the time of its release

The problem is they DO have the capital for this sort of thing. They just refuse to spend money for whatever reason.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Or maybe they want it to be profitable? The wii u only has a userbase of 6m. They cant exactly go nuts with it unless they are willing to lose money.

CoD sells 20m a year. They can go crazy with campaign and still make alot of money.

Maybe they expect the ND to do wonders.

It already has

Hmm, like what? I haven't see anything.

Amazon preorders should be all that you need as proof.

It already has bro. I'm anxious to see the preorder charts for the week it came out.

What wonders? You and tbone have made me curious.

Before i answer, pls note im not saying it like i think its the miracle wiiu needs to be the best or something similar to that. I was just trying to address the guy who puts down MK8 every chance he gets :)

Tht said, ever since the direct aired last week, lots of talk has been surfaced all over the place, Huge advertisements in japan, trends online (as you see) with many new vids and info. The ND brought a good amount of positivity with a good bundle and of course the great deal of any MK8 purchased gets consumers a free game!

After the direct pre orders shot up (proof in every amazon site from all different countries), and there ae few articles commenting on them. That is all (hope that helps)

Really, haven't seen a single one and I don't exactly live in the sticks.

If that's the case, they should just go third party, because this the going to be the best chance to sell the Wii U, period.  But I think they do have the capital, they are just very conservative with spending money.  That's fine in many cases, but not in an ad campaign for your flagship software title.

they still cant be profitable? Im not suggesting to do COD ad campaign, that ship has already sailed considering Activision is ALREADY promoting the damn thing. But Ninty needs to be doing better, this aint it.

What is the difference to what CoD has done so far? Both games got trailers and impressions on major outlets. The only difference i can see is that one is CoD the multi million seller across several platforms + kevin spacey. Mario Kart isnt gonna sell 20 million in one year.

Ninty needs to be smarter with their spending. And i am hoping thats what they are doing.

the difference is ive seen more coverage for COD since it was annouced than Mario Kart and Kart comes out in weeks, COD; months
