Yes, Microsoft did a great move by cooperating with a well reputed Chinese firm, they possibly can win China's market, especially that Chinese hate Japan more than America.

The big question now is how much will it cost. If MS really want to gain a strong foothold in china early, they need to make the xbox one somewhat affordable over there.

no. the ones who can afford a 399 console in china can afford a 499 too. they can't lower the price enough to appeal to mass market. but they also don't need to.

it's enough to enter the market. spread the word of mouth and make the chinese people want to have a xbox one. it's the brand power that is able to grow in china. and in 5-6 years they maybe be able to appeal to mass market.

Makes sense, also  considering they are already partnering with a reputable Shanghai media group in china. I think they can suceed there. Time will tell.

This will be quite interesting to see. It's a potential ruin for this forum though. Just imagine every week the hardware and software numbers with the X1 faction always insisting that they actually dominate because VGC doesn't track China.
