Maybe it's to stop any speculation that it's coming to other platforms, and so stop them getting bombarded on Twitter, Facebook or Youtube.

Wow, what was their point announcing it now instead of in 6 weeks? That's just yet another game that we'll be expecting at E3. Surprises would be nice.
