I knew it wasnt going to do wii numbers or even come close, but I didnt think it would be doing this badly.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

At that point, it was obvious they werent gonna let it do well regardless. The system of PS+Xbox is just too profitable to let go after last gen. The only thing that can replace it is a return to PS domination like the PS2 did.


i got to disagree. Its not like 3rd party were throwing new engines on WIi either, but that system still managed to do well. Wii U got great 3rd party support at the very beginning, and look at the sales. No wonder they shunned it.

I'm not gonna lie. I expected it to dominate and have very powerful hardware.

I also expected the next Xbox (I called it "Xbox Infinity") to be insanely powerful and for Sony to be in such financial trouble that the PS4 wouldn't launch until 2015 and be a small leap over the Wii U.

I'll never predict anything again. :(

This i think this is where alot of the problems come in. How you do even sell something like that? THats probably why we dont see alot of ads, cause even Ninty doenst know the answer

My old estimates were 60-80 million, but yeah. Now a mid-range estimate is matching GameCube's lifetime, and that's just... yech.

I actually thought it would do anything between Gamecube and N64 levels. I thought the Wii was a one off and didnt expect Wii U to go anywhere near to replicating that success. I still think there is time to make Wii U a modest success though, its still only 1 year and 5 months old, its still young Nintendo need to start getting the games out quicker.
