I was a bit disappointed at the end when Szeth was given the sword of another book when Sanderson said we wouldn't need to read the entire Cosmere canon to make sense of things. I honestly thought at first the whisp of smoke from the blade was his spren, since Nalan made him one of his Skybreaker Radiants and all, so yeah. But maybe Nalan has somehow kept his spren from returning from Shadesmar and given the name Skybreaker because of something who happened way back there so now he's doing things his own way.

Not to mention his sword is seemingly super powerful even next to a Shardblade according to Brandon himself, so yeah, after cringing at his omnipotence before, I'm not looking forward to his chapers.

Adolin... that will be an interesting case. I'm theorizing he'll ressurect a spren from speaking with his Shardblade so much, since everybody seems to be turning into a Radiant. At least he killed Sadeas, so I like him a lot right now.

Another thing to not is that someone's got to bound with the Nightwatcher, and I'm going to guess Taravangian will be the one to do it to become a Bondsmith.

I dont think you have to read warbreaker to understand nightblood.  Im sure you will learn enough about nightblood in the next stormlight books for it to feel self contained.  Its short appearance at the end was more of a tease and a wink to those in the know.  

Also, I dont think sveth will ever get a spren.  They said that not every radiant had a spren, that some of them had honor blades.  Thats what sveth had, and nightblood is supposed to be even more powerful than that.  

Keeping sveth powerful is the only way they can keep his confrontations with kaladin competitive.  As Kaladin speaks more oaths and aquires more abilities, it would be impossible for sveth to keep up with just an honor blade.  Bringing in nightblood actually has me looking forward to future comfrontations.  Just think about how epic their fight was in the high storm.  It is only going to get better!

adolin will definitely be the most interesting character in the next book.  I think he is being set up for a fall from grace, but we will see.  If he doesnt get a spren, he would at least make an excellent candidate for the honor blade kaladin took from sveth.  

AFAIK it was the Heralds who had no spren, but the spren actually saw what Honor/Cultivation were doing and mimmicked it to create every Radiant order.  There would be no way for the original Skybreakers to be rivals to the Windrunners of old if they had no spren of their own, and that's why I believe Nalan and his current Skybreakers are different from their past selves? Perhaps? It's still a bit confusing, really.

Unless Darkness is not Nalan, but only bears his honorblade and claims to be him, and created a order called Skybreakers, who has nothing to do with the original Skybreakers...

Either way, has it been estabilished who bears the Honorblades? Shinovar had eight or seven of them? AFAIK one is lost from the prelude itself, and one of the Heralds came back to claim his/hers on a later occasion. Szeth had one from Shinovar, and Darkness bears another one, which could or could not have come from the Shinovar blades or one of the two unaccounted for...

Yeah, I'm probably just confused on the honorblade stuff.  There is so little to go on so far...

nalen did say at the end of this last book that shinovar had 7... Which Im guessing is not counting the one sveth just had.  So thats 8 accounted for, one lost is probably the one nalen has, and talanel should have one as well as the last herald in the oathpact.  So that should be all of them. 

However, i do question whether this nalen is the actual herald.  If he abandoned the oathpact like all the heralds did... He shouldnt have his honorblade right?  If he has his honorblade and is the hearald... Shouldnt he have been enduring untold torture with talanel?

If I'm not wrong, Brandon himself said one of the Heralds changed his mind and came back for the honorblade after the Prelude of Way of Kings. So I'm torn here. Either Nalan is the one, or the man who claims to be him stole his honorblade from Shinovar, and Szeth didn't know it. Szeth himself was swayed by the possibilty Kaladin had one honorblade, so I question his knowledge all honorblades are accounted for on Shinovar.
