Though you do have a point, I really think that saying that they didn't try is simply wrong. Didn't try hard enough.... maybe.

They gave us Gravity Rush, Tearaway, LBP, Uncharted at launch!, Wipeout (ok not that popular, but still), that golf game, Resistance, Killzone, Sky Cooper 4(?), several ports of collections and in a few days GOW collection. They even made Soul Sacrifice, due to the lack of Monster Hunter, which they promoted quite a bit. Now they're releasing Freedom Wars, which looks promising and may be considered an answer to Monster Hunter as well. They obviously tried. Sure, they should have done more, but saying that they let it out to die is just wrong.  Many wrong decisions, but seeing them getting a team to make (e.g. COD)/port (Mickey game) games to vita shows an effort to help it succeed.

I can give you that they tried with emulating MH.

Witholding their most successful IPs seen from the last console doesn't seem like showing an effort to help it succeed.  Giving CoD to a historically sub par team that already had an FPS due out that year and not getting a full development cycle doesn't sound like an effort to help it succeed.  Bringing games that didn't sell well on more popular platforms doesn't show an effort to help it succeed so much as a panicked grab for whatever they can get.  Dropping support 1st party output below anything seen any year on PSP  in year 2 and 3 doesn't scream effort to help it succeed so much as quietly letting it die.

We know there wont be as much Vita software from Sony in the future because their 3 part plan is 2 parts buying a PS4 and streaming it's games.  If them telling you to buy another platform and it's games isn't enough for people to get the hint that they are not putting efforts towards Vita's success I honestly don't know what to say.  With friends like this Vita doesn't need enemies.

GOW COO sold 3.2 million units and GOS sold 1.2 million units as of May 31, 2012 (Source is in the OP). Also GT PSP sold over 4.3 million units. I don't know why they didn't develop an exclusive new GOW or GT game for the Vita. It indeed seems you are right. In case of handhelds they need to learn from Nintendo.

I don't understand how you can completely disregard all the positives and focus on all the negatives. The positives are many. As I said, LBP, Uncharted and Killzone were 3 out of their 5 most successful IPs.

It's like complaining to your wife that she doesn't show an effort by listing all the things that she didn't do that you wanted her to do and not paying any attention to all that she has actually done. Saying that Sony didn't try is, in my opinion, by all means wrong and an exaggeration. What they should have done is more, just like you said. They didn't, which makes their efforts subpar/inadequate, not non existant.

I praise those games and purchased every last one of them. When those positives don't come up to even 20% of my expectations of content I would get from 1st party I'll ignore them entirely or if they were my husband divorce them.  In that case they are insignificant enough for me to call their effort non existant.  This is the internet.

If Nintendo made a handheld and didn't put Pokemon and Mario and mario kart on it people would say they didn't even try. That is a valid statement even if it's not 100% literal.

Which proves my point that it's an exaggeration. Languages give us a range of words to acurately describe certain things. "no" effort is thus wrong. Also, Pokemon and Mario are bad comparisons. Pokemon has always sold by far the best on handhelds (so your comparison would be better if you were talking about wiiu) and there have been multiple Mario games on every ninty handheld to date.

I will end this here. Sony tried, but not enough and did not make the right decisions on several matters. Whether people's expectations were unrealistic or they lack the ability to appreciate what they can get is a different matter.

I don't think anyone expects their next console to get less games.  Those are totally unrealistic expectations.  I don't think people expecting to see more games in year 2 and 3 for their console than the 1st are unrealistic expecations at all. They are totally the standard expectations.

Well... i cant argue with that logic on GoW and GT6 after we have seen how they did. Definitly would have helped the company more on the Vita.

On the other hand, it did send a positive image of Sony supporting their system until the last breath, wich might've helped with the PS4.

But alas... when Sony doesnt believe their own portable, how is anyone else expected to? I'm just glad that we seem to at least be getting Tales of Hearts.

Vita isnt even doing too badly... It's selling more than WiiU lol.

First of all, attacking someone is a clear indication that you've lost an argument. I won't stoop to that level and respond in kind, but here's why you're wrong:

"In no time"  is an expression. You can't use "no" wherever you want instead of "hardly any", as in "there is no one in the house", "you have no evidence to back up this theory". Hence you have:

1. "You failed your essay because you hardly put any effort...", which means that you put some effort, but it was not enough. You might have needed to use at least 10 references and used only two.

2. "You failed your essay because you put no effort...": suggests that you read the wikipedia page and paraphrased what you read there instead of doing any proper research.

While the first essay would get a 35/100 (with 40 being the minimum to pass the course), the second would get a 20/100, because it was terrible (though still on topic. An off topic essay would get a 0/100).

You can disagree all you want (you're entitled to your own opinion), but attacking someone is not a very respectable way of expressing your disagreement. Also, when you criticize one's language skills, make sure you're at least correct.

This isnt my opinion.  If you look at the definition of the word "no" as I have already so kindly provided from the oxford dictionary you can see it CAN be used to mean hardly any. http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/no#no

If you actually read my words as they were intended we don't really disagree at all.  It seems you simply want me to say Sony put in hardly any effort.  I've already said that. I simply didn't use the same rhetoric that you did.  If you don't understand that I don't know what I can do to get you to understand past something I've already been warned asking you to do.

I'm also not sure how I've attacked you oustide of implying that you don't understand how I am using the English language which seems to be true.
