Infamous is great, its the worst of the series though.

I have PS+.  There are great games on PS3, but the PS4 you're not missing much...at all...

Starcraft, you're no fan of the PS4. Your preference was never on PS consoles. So you can't give him good advise in this matter, as is appearent.

Why am I no better placed than anyone else to give advice?

I own both, neither currently has a strong gaming library at all.  PS+ currently has no great games at all on PS4, and there is no games with gold yet on X1.

Further, my advice is right in line with opinion pieces all over the internet, including on this site - just yesterday!

I agree, but the OP is talking about a long term commitment, which has little to do with how much there is on the console right now.

Do whatever fits your gaming needs but 5 years? Doubt it, and it's not really Xbox's fault that it doesn't get some of the Japanese games Playstation does, PS is the obvious choice for JP games. As far as support from the actual console makers, I'd argue it's been about the same recently. Xbox is about games more than ever now, I think worrying about support in "5 years" is silly.

And I am just as well placed as anyone to comment?

Given the Xbox 360 still sells, receives extensive online support, still receives games every week, and has a highly active Games with Gold program, I'd say its unreasonable at this point to expect MS not to support their new console for a decade to come.  The original Xbox is ancient history - Microsoft has demonstrated that not only do they want long console life cycles, they are willing to support consoles after the launch of a new one.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

What is this shit, you clearly have played the PS3 a ton and act as if you are abandoning playing only XBOX to own a PS system for the first time. You have a TLOU profile pic. Even without it saying it its obvious you will or already own PS4.

He has a 56k gamerscore compared to 3 plats and 600 bronze trophies. He's clearly played way way more 360.
Maybe that's what feels wrong to him. He's in love with TLoU and unimpressed with what MS is doing.

TLoU raised the bar.

That's good. I recommend anybody that can afford multiple consoles buy multiple consoles. That way, you miss out on nothing!

but thats not true, you miss out on being a part of fanboy wars!

I own both new gens.  Xbox exclusives have never been able to come close to Sony's. It isn't new. There are other great things about Xbox but yeah if you're talking exclusives, Sony is where it's at. 95% of people who don't agree with this don't own Sony products and haven't played said exclusives. Halo, Fable, Trials, and Titanfall are all excellent but there is a list 4 or 5 times that length of better Sony exclusives.

PS+ currently has no great games? It has had Resogun, Outlast, Don't Starve etc.

All GREAT GAMES. Geez your standards are too high if you think those are not great games.

Something is wrong? What would that be?

Edit: Why not have both?

Sony has a lot more first party studios, Bungie has left Microsoft and Naughty Dog > All

I don't know after Destiny I'd be willing to say Bungie is better than Naughty Dog. Also I don't think MS will do the same thing they did to 360, especially since Phil Spencer is the head of Xbox now.
