I have got an oppurtunity to pick one of classic consoles between Sega Dreamcast and XBOX, I wish i can have both but i can buy only one. Both of them are in good condition with box included just cant decide. Classic sheldon situation :D.. So any suggestions from you guys which one should i go for.. Oh and i dont want them for payabilty factor as much as a collectors item.. Help me

P.S. There is also a N64.. but i would prefer Gamecube from Nintendo.

Dreamcast was fun, but xbox was king with halo multiplayer, 4 controllers and 3 good friends to snipe with in blood gulch until 3am.

I might go with the Dreamcast, just cus I imagine there are probably less of them still out there

Reading the above statement, Dreamcast. There are enough Xbox's out there. Dreamcast will become rarer.

My choice would be Dreamcast. Collector item! (Soul calibur 1, Shenmue 1 & 2 not 3 :(, Powerstone 1 & 2, ToyCommander, Eternal arcadia).

Except if you want to play Halo 1 & 2, then go for Xbox. But Xbox is not really a essential collector console.

For both Games & Collector factor Dreamcast > Xbox, but Xbox has halo 1 & 2 which can be a deciding factor for many. I personnaly really liked Halo 1 but I loved many Dreamcast games!

I recommend all three, but if you're not interested in N64 and you own a 360, you should probably go with Dreamcast.

Also, you should definitely reconsider N64 some day down the road. I think it slightly edges out Dreamcast as a collectors' item, and its game library is one of the best.

I believe N64 is the most expensive these days, so if it's about collection value, I'd actually go with that. Dreamcast is very close though. The Xbox, on the other hand, is about as cheap as a PS2 or even the original PlayStation. I got mine 2 months ago for 20€ incl. 6 games. It really isn't a collector's item (yet).
