Forums - Nintendo - April Fools, but there actually are Pokemon sprites in Google Maps

As you probably have heard, Nintendo has talked about doing something with mobile, but weren't clear on what. Well, Google has put a Pokemon AR game into Google Maps, so I think we have our first answer. This looks pretty awesome, actually...

What do you think they might do in the future with mobile?

Edit: So obviously it's an April Fools joke. There is no Pokemon AR game incorporated into Google Maps, as amazing as that would be. But wait! Google did in fact work with the Pokemon company for this, and there actually are Pokemon in the Google Maps App! For iOS and Android versions of Google Maps, you can find Pokemon strewn throughout the map and catch them. It's not nearly as epic, but hey, it shows Nintendo is willing to license their characters to appear on mobile phones, so maybe we'll see more things like this in the future?

Out of curiousity, has anyone found them all yet?

No it isn't, the app actually updated. The April Fools joke is that you don't ACTUALLY become a Pokemon Master working at Google.

Likely The Pokemon Company gone rogue again.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It is true, I already used it... And btw, Dragonite was my first Pokemon and it's in the San Francisco area... Haha!

Also, whether it's a joke or not, Nintendo has to approve this, or Google would get sued.

It is a curious decision. It's either a sign of things to come or the biggest tease since SpaceWorld 2000.

is nintendo suporting this?

God damn cock teases. Though honestly if invizimals had better art direction and turn based battles it wouldn't be far off.
