I have a feeling the PC version wont look like that first demo either. They probably will force parity with the PS4 for the most part.

Besides, the number of people with PC's that would be able to run it is negligable.

They probably will, that was status quo with last generation.
Darn consoles *shakes fists* always holding back progress!

Last time I checked there were roughly 5+ million Steam users with PC's that were faster than the PS4.
Obviously since then Steam added more users and percentages increased, but the Video card descriptions aren't working properly for me to verify the current numbers at the moment.
Something that should be kept in mind with Steams statistics is that: 1) It doesn't show multiple GPU's. 2) It doesn't show nVidia or AMD's GPU's if they're running Optimus/Enduro, Steam in that situation will simply count the Intel GPU.
So potentially there was more than 5+ million during that last count.
Could even be more better-than-the-PS4 gamers on PC than PS4's currently sold, although if indeed that is the case it won't last long with the PS4's current selling rate.

I'm gonna go ahead and admit it now: My PC's graphics don't look that much better than last gen's. :(

I also have absolutely no idea what the OP is talking about but I felt that was worth confessing anyway.

You're not the only one. People here make me laugh, the reality of the situation is that most people current PC arent going to push graphics much better than their home consoles, especially PS4 and Xbox1. Fact is their are very few people out their that is going to go the extra mile and get graphic cards more ram to even get it to current gen levels. They would rather pay the 400-500 dollars and not deal with the hassle.

Tons of people held off upgrading because to put bluntly... The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 ports just didn't demand much in the way of hardware requirements, the Steam statistics showed a rather large upswing in hardware over the last several months.
Essentially if you had a 6 year old Core 2 Quad with 8Gb of Ram, then all you needed was a $30 Radeon 6570 and you can play most games at high settings (Without AA and AF) at 720P and get 30fps, with better graphics than the HD twins.

Converesly, allot of other people are rather happy just to sit with old hardware and play games with reduced image quality settings, heck, Call of Duty, World of WarCraft, League of Legends aren't graphical powerhouses yet are some of the most popular franchises on the planet, which cements the point that not everyone is infactuated about graphics.

Right now however, I have a PC that is theoretically more than 10x the performance of a Playstation 4 and that's all that matters to me. :)

I know you use your pc professionally, but, i would love to know what you've got packed into your beast of a pc. Mines halfway decent, ive got an amd phenom 2, 955 be 4 core cpu, at 3.9 ghz, 8 GB of ram (dont remember the speed, 1600? I think.) And a gtx 560ti. still runs games pretty well..Works pretty good.. for me. but, id love to hear what you've got!

I think i know why rockstar havent yet announce the dates for next gen and pc versions because of people claiming downgrade and i believe that was really the reason why gta v maintain the hype and sales. Ubisoft gone and fu**ed up with that reveal and its only hurting the hype because of the people supporting pc version. I think it would be just smart to delay the pc version and release it along with the wii u version so the comparisons will only be limited to next gen and last gen.

I am of the opinion that Rockstar didn't do a PC version because it's too easy to pirate a PC game.  Sure, it's possible on a console, but much harder.

So more of the games being played, are actualy ones people bought.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Worth pointing out that graph is only prebuilts from Dell HP etc you could probably add another few mill for custom (from boutiques) and home built towers.

Well, companies like Corsair, Geil, Thermaltake, NZXT, Antec, BitFenix, Noctua, Silverstone, Sapphire, EVGA, XFX, Palit, Enermax, Seasonic, Razer etc' and dozens more built their companies around self-builders and enthusiasts, combined they probably represent several billion dollars.
So it wouldn't be small by any stretch. :)

I have:
CPU: Core i7 3930K 6 cores/12 threads @ 4.8ghz. (Will be upgrading to Haswell-E 8-cores/16 threads later this year.)
Ram: 64Gb 8x8Gb Corsair Dominator Platimum 2133mhz. (DDR4 later this year.)
Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Formula. (New motherboard later this year!)
Graphics: 4x Radeon 290's 4Gb in Crossfire. (Probably replaced in January with it's successors.)
Monitor: 3x Dell 27" IPS 1440P. (Intend to move to Triple 4k once the display input tech and scalers catches up.)
HDD: OS: 64Gb OCZ Vertex 2, Steam: 2Tb Western Digital Caviar Black, Programs: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1tb. - Then got several 3 Terabyte external drives for backup and storage. (I need to ditch the old SSD one day.)
All under water.

That's just my main PC. :P
To be honest even my HTPC which is used *only* for playing back movies is faster than a PS4.

Piracy has been in decline for years in the PC space thanks to Steam, it's no longer an argument anymore.
Console games also get pirated.
The irony is, more copies of GTA 5 was pirated for consoles than PC. :P

Fact of the matter is Rockstar have never been big proponents of the PC, which is fine by me, less money they get and less horrible console ports that arrives on the PC, win win!
