Forums - Nintendo - Chance of Bravely Second being released simultaneously in Japan and West?

Bravely Default has been my favourite game this year, and it's pretty apparent that the sequel will be localized as well. Do you think we will see a simultaneous release, seeing as that the game has seen tons of success in the West? I really hope so, I don't want to wait a year and a half again :(

I highly doubt it. As probable as a Wii U version...

Nope, Nintendo published the first one I believe so we have to wait till they do it again. Damn u localization!!! :(

Nintendo did release Pokemon X and Y at the same time world-wide so maybe there's a small chance they do the same?

I doubt it, the world just hates jrpg lovers :(

I don't mind if it doesn't get a similtaneous release, just as long as it comes over eventually!

Yea but Nintendo made and published those and they are Nintendo's IPs but Bravely Default is made by Square and Silicon so its mostly up to those guys to allow Nintendo to Publish the second one (Although Square could do it them selves if they weren't greedy SoBs T_T)

That's true, Nintendo does have more say over their IPs, but I'll live in my delusions and pretend they're gonna try and care about western gamers. Either that, or I'll learn Japanese and import the game

I doubt it, seeing how the 1st game just launched relatively recently in the West. They wouldn't want to follow up with a sequel so soon after the original came out, I think. Plus, JRPGs typically need an astonishingly long time to get localized.

Since the updated game (BD: For the Sequel) was released just 1 or 2 days after Japan in Europe and the US, the chances for another simultaneous release are high. Unless Nintendo and Square Enix decide to wait for an updated version again.

BD: For the Sequel was released in Japan on December 5, 2013 and the original Bravely Default was never translated or released in the west.

I do not like the Final Fantasy 5 job system and would have preferred a release of Dragon Quest 7 instead of BD by the way.

zero.

But, localisation should be faster this time around.
