There's quite a big difference between closing a studio and auditing an active one.

We shouldn't be too suprised.. a lot of first party games from Sony the last few years sold like crap (some deserved it) They underperformed and people got fired for it..

Bad signs while the PS4 is selling very well, just imagine if it would have been a failure, the layoffs would have been huge. Let's just hope the future games will not suffer too much from this.

They are both still "doomed", only Sony need to re-organize their entire company and Nintendo needs to find a way to earn cash without being depended on the portable/console sales.

There's quite a big difference between closing a studio and auditing an active one.

Of course there is.

But before you close a studio, you start auditing it to see how viable it is and what can be done with it. They don't close studios just for the sake of closing them.
