Forums - Sony - So Infamous is a flop: why did Sucker Punch fail?

81 isn't a flop and it wasn't totally unexpected.
inFamous: 85 -> inFamous 2: 83 -> inFamous: Second Son: 81

And it won't affect sales that much. CoD: Ghosts and Killzone: Shadow Fall had scores in the 70's and sold very well.

8th gen already began last year according to that standard => http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii-u/super-mario-3d-world

Well, I am still buying =D

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Simple question, difficult answer. With the recent metacritic reviews coming in Infamous Second Son has an average of 81; or a flop by AAA game standards. Where did Sucker Punch go wrong? It's obvious that the 54 critics on metacritic all agreed with one thing: The story sucks.

It's a shame really. But I guess with Titanfall failing to be a great game with a score of 90+, we should have expected this. The next gen simply isn't very next gen if it can't even produce 90+ games on Metacritic because as we all know; great games must have at least a 90+ score to be great.

Put simply: Infamous: Second Son is a flop; as is Titanfall. I guess we're still waiting for the first truely "next gen game".

Discuss why Infamous is a flop in your opinion.

*Disclaimer: I have not played infamous nor Titanfall. I am simply assuming they are bad games based on their subpar 90 meta-scores as most gamers should*

Um.....Xbox fans predicted Titanfall to score exactly where it is.

Really? I wasn't following TF but after all the hype from both gaming media and Xbox fans I expected an easy 90+ meta. Maybe after playing the beta people knew it's not that good.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Yeah I heard that phrase a couple of times, that's why I thought that TF meta was an dissapointment, even though good in it's own right. Maybe not if what Sales says is true.

At least we can finally agree that X1 has the better library at the moment.

Both of them don't have anything worthwhile at the moment so I don't see the point in your cheerleading ...

the start of the generation is the only time xbox fans can cheerlead lol.

once the timed exclusives wash away and Sony bring out the games on long developement cycles, its over.

Is this a serious thread or is it a joke thread that fails to be funny?

Seriously.

You can I both know that Nintendo does not count as the "current gen" ever in video games history. They are always 1 gen behind. Duh.
