I quietly watched Infamous SS closely and told myself I wouldn't be surprised if it got an 8...

I won't claim that I can prove that anywhere, but it turned out to be a hollow adventure it seems. It's sad that people bash Nintendo for "playing it safe", and most reviews are saying Infamous SS plays it safe, haha

So an Infamous game plays like an Infamous game? How horrible. It's the 3rd game in the series, that isn't the time for any massive changes or evolutions. It should be a refinement of the formula which is exactly what the game is.

That's terribly convenient if Sony fans are perfectly okay with rehashes...  I hope you're not the same kind of guy bashing Nintendo for "rehashes", despite them showing far more creativity and change in their series than any other studio in the world, and then turning around and abolishing Sony of any responsibility of doing the same...

I think the reviews of the game fairly reflect that Sony's two first party titles aren't really doing anything different (KZ:SF and Infamous SS).  Sony needs to stop putting money into eyecandy and put money into creativity!

A third game in the series is not the time for any major changes. It's supposed to be a refinement to an established formula. Look at Mario 3, Warcraft 3, Sonic 3, Link to the Past, none of these game were major evolutions to the series, ignorant people might even call them rehashes, but they made improvements and refinements to the previous games. Same exact thing that Infamous Second Son is doing. If you think that the game is a rehash then you clearly have no idea what you're talking about and I would reccomend actually playing the game before spouting off ignorant crap! ;)

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Incorrect about ignorant crap, I tried it out (didn't beat it), and the combat was fun for a VERY short while...  I think you don't even realize that Infamous SS hasn't really "refined" the formula either, it's playing it a little TOO safe...

After the huge flop Killzone Shadowfall was I thought fanboys would keep their hype in check but they turned around and overhyped Infamous Second Son for the past 4 months. The same thing will happen with The Order 1886 as well. The first PS4 game that will actually be capable of living up to hype is Uncharted 4 but that is still almost 2 years away.

This is the best flop I have ever played. More flops like this please.

I honestly don't understand the middling reviews for infamous. I had an absolutely fantastic time with it. Best game of the new gen so far, by far, and one of my favorite all time open world games.

If 80% Meta is the new bar for flop then we are in for a lot of flops this generation.

Exactly. I think the end of the last gen really clouded a lot of people's minds. In the last year of the 7th gen we got a lot of really good games that got great critic reviews and thus when a game like Infamous gets 80; it is assumed by some that it is a flop critically. I think this gen will more harsh in reviews. So we should expect more "flops".

Simple question, difficult answer. With the recent metacritic reviews coming in Infamous Second Son has an average of 81; or a flop by AAA game standards. Where did Sucker Punch go wrong? It's obvious that the 54 critics on metacritic all agreed with one thing: The story sucks.

It's a shame really. But I guess with Titanfall failing to be a great game with a score of 90+, we should have expected this. The next gen simply isn't very next gen if it can't even produce 90+ games on Metacritic because as we all know; great games must have at least a 90+ score to be great.

Put simply: Infamous: Second Son is a flop; as is Titanfall. I guess we're still waiting for the first truely "next gen game".

Discuss why Infamous is a flop in your opinion.

*Disclaimer: I have not played infamous nor Titanfall. I am simply assuming they are bad games based on their subpar 90 meta-scores as most gamers should*

Take a chill pill op. 81.56 is not a flop. They are just rating it down cause they are allowing for higer ratings to come to the new gen systems down the line. Yes they are being hard on PS4 exclusives. The game actually rocks. Could of gotten over 9 if it was a last gen game.

"These are the highest quality pixels that anybody has seen"

What is this, a troll thread?

Or are you just trying to stir up controversy for the hits a la Rol?

Why don't we take a look at the sales figures over the next month before making outlandishly opinionated declarations?
