You should want to read the critis in question, I don't think any one of the critics says the game is an uter failure (it would have gotten a rating between 1 and 3)... but it really depends on how the critics were bothered by the apparent down sides of the game: it may be a bit repetitive in nature... and the environments were not varied enough to some people's taste.

That was in the eyes of some completly outweighted by the great story, good acting, amazing game play/fast action.

What's not sure: did all the reviewers get the 1.01 patch in time? (it fixes some of the tediousness apparently) 

Now a newer console will not guarantee all games are "better" I have been gaming since the 8-bit NES days and still go back to some very old games from time to time and they still provide great entertainment... I really like the new toys and how the PS4 performs, but it's only as good as the games on it, I think this one can either please or bore someone depending on their preferences and how they play it, also, replaying it differently may help people who say the campaign is "short" as there are two completely different set of missions.

Actually no, you are wrong.  X1 had one more launch title, and none of the games were any better than the PS4 titles.  They both released one big game so far and the PS4 has more confirmed for 2014 than the X1.  In terms of downloadable titles, X1 falls short while the PS4 is on top of it.  That said, after the launch period both are close to equal, but the PS4 has more now and lined up in the future.

So if you want to use your logic, you have it in reverse.  ;)

Its really not surprising to me because it is a Sony exclusive. Reviews is going to be more harsh and nitpicky than usual.

I think we all can agree on my statement. I mean look at Titanfall. Reviewers gave the flaws of that game a pass. Two different games of course, a single player and Multiplayer, but still you get the point.

Which if you want to use Metacritic as some sort of objective measure is, in fact, wrong. PS4 has more green games than Xb one on metacritic at present.

But now you want to limit yourself to AAA retail selection? OK but given the smallness of that sample size right now on both consoles, aside from the boilerplate multiplats wich are a wash, it's not much of a claim and it's not a significant difference.  You've only got TF and F5 in the so-called AAA 80+ meta range. And my PC is capable of playing TF at Xb one performance so TF isn't even a selling point for Xb one.  And according to this thread F5 is a AAA flop being only an 80. So in terms of true exclusives PS4 is actually ahead by 1 point now because inFamous is 81 and Forza is 80. I don't know where to put PVZGW, I assume you're counting it because it improves the numbers, but I'm not sure it can be called a AAA and again 360 makes it not a strong Xb one selling point quite apart fromt he 76 meta. So we're really down Dead rising 3 being THE game which sets Xb one apart from an exclusives perspective, with a meta of 78 it's not much of a glowing endorsement for Xb one superiority...if you want to use metascores as an objective measure of quailty.

I will give Xb one one thing though, It has a reasonably good fighter in Killer Instinct, apparently. PS4 needs to fix that shit ASAP. Not that I care for fighters but it's still an important genre to have covered to be able to cater to all hardcore interests.

So yes a Xb one fan can make a case for better retail AAAs. But it's a weak arse case at best.

Neither console can make a strong case of having a great library of games that says "buy me!". I'm only buying PS4 today because of inFamous. If not for inFamous I'd be waiting until 2015 most likely, and probably waiting for the first price cut. Damn you Sucker Punch and Sony for making me a fool who's soon to be parted with his money!!
