Yes, but that changes the game how? This has always been the case. Consoles and PCs are still gonna be both valid choices as they are now.

Until of course people figure out that you can hook up a PC to a TV.

Better performance.  I said that in the OP too.

*edit*

Advantages between PC and consoles when everything goes all digital.

PC.  Better performance, current gen is backwards compatible with all prior gens, more digital markets to purchase your games from so more frequent sales, you can change graphical options to get better performance or better graphics, and no fee for online gaming.  Wii U and the portables have no fee for online gaming right now for consoles and portables, but for future gens, free online is gone unless you go with Nintendo.

Console.  No need to wonder whether your console will play the game or not.  With PC though, as long as you have 8GB of RAM and a graphics card more powerful than the most current console, you won't have to worry about that either.

You're running in circles. Nothing you just said is new and has always been this way. So why would all digital change anything in that matter?

I assume your assumption is that people only buy consoles because they still have physical copies but that's wrong. People will still buy consoles with all digital content because the pros against a PC remain.

I wouldn't mind digital only if they're like $30 for a new game rather than $60, but as most games seem to sit, atleast for consoles, they're the same damn price. I definitely prefer physical copies, so i can either trade them for another game i want on GameTZ, or sell them on Amazon. The only games i currently buy digitally are ones that are only available digitally.

I'm already all digital on my Wii U and 3DS, so.. I wouldn't care.

Ill stick to retro gaming if everything goes completely digital.

If everything goes all digital, I'll bring out my own console for the millions of people who prefer to own the shit they pay for.

Also it will have blackjack and hookers.

Indeed digital is the future but you are a fool if you think PC will be the way to go. The future has been written, mobile games is the way to go.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

If gaming goes all digital I will reconsider what consoles I buy and will buy 95% of my games at < $10 and, the other %4 at < $20 and perhaps 1% at more than that. I usually buy games new in store but dont often pay more than $40 save for a few titles a year.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I assume your assumption is that people only buy consoles because they still have physical copies but that's wrong. People will still buy consoles with all digital content because the pros against a PC remain.

My comments have and will be the same as what I've said since the first post.  Having physical copies was the only real benefit of a console over PC.  If it's a digital purchase, then there's no benefit except for a game being exclusives.  I've said consoles would be secondary because of the exclusives, but when you can get a PC and have better performance, play games for all prior generations, cheaper costs due to no required online fee, and multiple markets to purchase games from instead of just one, there's no benefit for being a console owner.

I've already gave you my reasoning, but what have you said other than a retort that I'm repeating the same thing?  What amazing reasons do you have for everyone to stick to being a console owner and paying more money for digital games that will no longer be playable on the next gen systems when they arrive?   Other than what I've said, there's nothing that you can say.  Other than exclusives on both consoles and PC or not having to upgrade your graphics card, which you could upgrade once and be done with it, there are no benefits whatsoever.  HDTVs have had PC inputs for awhile now, most graphics cards have HDMI outputs now, PCs have been able to use controllers since the 90s, maybe the 80s though all I remember are flight sticks, and now days most games that have a console release also have a PC release.

I'm also not saying that people aren't going to continue buying consoles, I'm saying why I'm going to primarily be a PC gamer once everything goes all digital and questioning everyone else's intentions as well.  Whether consoles continue to do good or not is a moot point.  It's that there will be no more benefits for owning a console as a primary when physical releases are gone outside of exclusives.

None of the above.

I'll continue to play games on every format it is available on that also has compelling software. As it is now I buy a mixture of digital and physical media when it suits my budget, playing habits etc.

Comfort, not having to set everything up(like getting your pc closer to your TV), unified ecosystem, easier to use and navigate(especially for children), initial price, exclusives, tradition, marketing buzz. Do you need still more reasons why people buy consoles?

The fact that PCs can be hooked up to TVs and be playable with controllers is as you said known for a long time yet no one seems to care.  Why? Because the reasons I just told you. You defeat your own argument by counting all the pros of a PCs because even with all these pros people stuck with consoles. Not because of physical copies. You know there are physical copies for PC games too, right?

Digital games won't change any of these reasons and that's why digital won't change the situation. If anything people will like consoles even more because they are just now discovering the pros of digital downloads over physical copies.

Just for the record I am well aware of all the pros of a PC since I'm a PC gamer myself but at least I'm able to understand why console owners made their choice. To me it makes no difference because my consoles and PCs are hooked up at the same monitor and my controller is next to mouse and keyboard. But I'm the exception.
