Forums - Microsoft - RARE : Xbox One 'could last 12 years'

Maybe they have the X1 as multimedia center and for casual Kinect stuff for 12 years and a new console without Kinect for gamers in 5/6/7 years. Casual Kinect games will never need stronger hardware than the X1.

Funny thing is people laughed when they said that about 360, given that Xbox only lasted 4 years. Now it is in its 9th year.

Support == First party exclusives

I mean, X360 is a dead walking console since the kinect launch

It still get plenty of support I guess you never heard of online games again you must be living under a rock.

Release a game like The last of us for PS3 in the PS4's year. This is support!!!

First party support from MS is a joke since 2010.This is fact!!!

Support =  on shelves. But if you insist.

2014: Fable Anniversary, Halo Spartan Assault, World of Tanks, Titanfall, Fantasia: Music Evolved, Project Spark, Warface, Trials Fusion (no PS3 version), Tropico 5 (no PS3 version)
Timed: PVZ Z: Garden Warfare, Peggle 2
The main standouts are Titanfall, Spark, and Fable Anniversary. Arguably MS is supporting 360 better then Sony is for the PS3 this year. Keep in mind PS3 is in its 8th year and 360 is in its 9th.
P.S Halo 4 outsold every PS3 exclusive in 2012. Hardly dead but I see what you mean with lacking quantity. XBLA was a beast, though people didn't seem to notice.

Fable Anniversary is a graphical upgrade, not a mere HD release. The rest are on 360 and not on PS3. It is a very simple concept. Once you get out of the very narrow thinking you will see that these are all games MS secured and prevented a PS3 release (speaking of 3rd party ones here).

I mean even in its 9th year MS is paying for timed releases lol. Its on 360 and not on PS3. That is support no matter how you slice it. And given the pedigree of Titanfall, that alone gives 360 the edge on whatever PS3 has this year.

Last of US was in PS3 7th year.......this is 360's 9th year. Looks like 360 is ironically better supported in the late game.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I think its not daring to say that the situation is completely different this time around.

Blatant lie to create value.
This may actually be the shortest gen ever.

Nintendo and MS get frustrated that they start anew in 5-6 years. Force Sony to adapt and thus cut PS4's legs short. Ah, the cons of winning......excessively ;)

The Last of Us was released before the PS4 came out but I wouldn't expect anything better from someone living under a rock or better yet under a brigde sine you are trolling.

True but X1 is still outselling the 360 lifetime and selling near neck to neck when aligned. Very impressive given the price gap. Also X1 is profitable out of the gate where it took 360 a few years. Maybe its because 360 is padding losses into profit where 360 didnt have that luxury when it launched.

All they have to do is sell enough to maintain a profit and they should have no problem lasting. Though yes, I doubt they will reach lifetime 360 numbers.

I used to love Rare, but maybe it's time they retire the studio.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

10 seems more likely

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine
