PS4 by a mile

Around the Network

Right now Xbox One. When a few Naughty Dog games are out and it has a little price drop then it will be the moment to buy PS4 in my opinion.

I think more people should spend more time with both consoles. Some opinions would possibly change.

You can say that becuse you have both of them. So what is your opininion xbox one or ps4

Posted earlier in the thread but I'm thinking of doing a whole comparison one day in the future like I did with the PSV vs 3DS ( http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=141375 )

Right now, I'd go with the Xbox One but I suspect that will change as time goes on.  Maybe in even as soon as the next month or so.  Anyway

PS4 advantages:

  • Lets you play new games faster than Xbox One due to quicker install speeds
  • Has a couple of controller tricks the Xbox One doesn't (Speaker, light bar, headphone jack, built in rechargeable battery, touch pad)
  • slightly faster interface (and I mean slightly! both are super fast!),
  • Better performance for multiplats though I haven't done a head to head myself to see.  I trust the pros on this one.
  • Cheaper--which is a big deal to a lot of people
  • Free games--Looking at the PS Store on PS4 store right now--Resogun, Dead Nation, Outlast (was free. Now it's $19.99), Warframe, Blacklight Retribution, DCU Online ("free to play" but you know how that goes), Zen Pinball.
  • More games on the games store.
  • PSV remote play is awesome if you have a PSV (Sold seperately)
PS4 flaws:
  • Lots of stuff that were expected aren't implemented yet.  Fewer apps to choose from compared to Xbox One
  • Interface is really bare.  It's clean though but just feels like something is missing.  Themes or something, I don't know.  Matter of opinion on this one.
  • Blu Ray player can't play 3D Blu Rays (yet)
  • Really cheap "headset" packed in the box
  • Can't connect my portable HDD to watch downloaded content yet
Xbox One advantages:
  • Kinect works REALLY well (if you're the type that's interested--and I am!).  Pretty impressive voice and motion controls.
  • Running two apps side by side (ie: internet explorer ) is pretty cool
  • Interface is more customizeable
  • More stuff packed in the box (but you pay for them):  Kinect, surprisingly high quality headset, month of XBLG (two more additional weeks if you get Titanfall bundle like I did)
  • More apps available to download
  • HDMI IN is pretty impressive.
  • You can use it to control your TV and Satellite receiver (if you want)
Xbox One disadvantages:
  • Price.  Mine was $499 with free Titanfall but still, more than the PS4 with a game.  PS4 with a game and a camera on the other hand.....
  • Store is a mess to navigate
  • Less games avaialbe to download
  • "free" games are just glorified demos (Killer Instinct, Project Spark, Kinect Sports)
  • Multiplats are better on PS4
  • Still uses AA batteries (I use rechargeable ones I had for years but others will likely hate not having a built in battery pack)
  • Smart Glass isn't implemented very well, yet.  As far as I can tell, it only works on movies.
  • Can't connect my portable HDD to watch content, yet.
Tie:
  • Voice chat/Party mode
  • Browser experience
  • Starting a game from the powered off mode or quick start/stand by modes
  • Friends activity
  • Video upload/Streaming
  • both are equally silent running.
  • Online experience
Personal preferences:
  • Library quality.  At this point, the Xbox One had more games that I PERSONALLY would like to play.  That will probably change soon.
  • Importance of multi-media functionality.
  • controller comfort.  Both are damn near perfection, imo.
And for good measure, we'll toss in the Wii U!
Wii U advantages:
  • Very low price and, from what I've seen, PS4/Xbox One titles really aren't huge leap over the U (Some of you probably stopped reading right there but really, there isn't a single game for either I've played that didn't seem at least somewhat possible on the 7th gen consoles.  Perhaps inFamous will change that.)
  • Wii U controller is tricked out with virtually every controller feature possible.
  • Best second screen option available.  Never glitches.
  • Strongest library (matter of opinion, of course)
  • Miiverse community is like Twitter for gamers and is well implemented and used creatively in many games.
  • Absolute best web browser of all three consoles
  • TVii lets you text chat with others while watching your favorite TV shows (it's an addiction for me!)
  • Pro controller holds its own against the newer controllers as far as comfort.  Battery life is INSANE.
  • Like the Xbox One, you can control your TV and Satellite with the controller
  • Off screen play lets you play without a TV at all (like PS4 and Vita, only more stable)
  • Backwards compatible with the Wii
  • Free online
Wii U disadvantages:
  • Weakest console of the three
  • Third party support is rapidly fading
  • Controller has short battery life (I often keep mine plugged in while I play)
  • Pro Controller has digital triggers instead of analog
  • Short range of Off screen play
  • Very few non-gaming apps to speak of.
  • External HDD can only be used as additional storage, not for additional media
  • No Blu Ray, DVD, or even CD support!
  • Cross game chat, party system, game invites, etc. are either broken or non-existent.
  • Virtually no free content to speak of.
--And that's my take on them so far.  And I have to admit that I haven't explored everything that the PS4 and Xbox One can do.  They both have so many features that aren't quite intuitive, yet.  I have to make a Twitch account though I've been able to watch Twitch videos on all three consoles.  For me, all three consoles are definitely worth owning and, as time goes on, will become even more vital to my gaming life.  For others, it will likely be a trade off for what you think is most important but each console has its own identity and things it does better than the other two competitors.  Don't just write one off because it's not the one you chose because really, you're missing out on something great.  If you can play any of the other consoles, you might be surprised how much you actually like them.  I'll play more in the coming weeks and hopefully anything I got wrong, I'll discover and anything I found as a flaw will be patched or updated.  Then, we'll have a three way battle royal comparison blowout!!
*Shangri La!!  The current setup--probably gonna do some adjusting today...and eventually buy a decent camera*
Beneath the TV:  3DS, Kinect 2.0 sitting atop Wii U Sensor Bar, Wii U controller
Middle:  PS3 Slim, Wii U, Xbox 360s
Bottom: Xbox One, Vita, PS4
Left: Off camera:  Stan the Headphone Wearing Bear, drawer that holds controllers and accessories
Bottom Right beneath stereo:  Direct TV Receiver
Top Right:  Shitty Acer laptop used for browsing porn on TV (Before the Wii U came along)

Right now, Xbox one definitely have the upper hand in terms of exclusives that i would like to play but i don't buy consoles for the "now moment". I did that with Xbox 360 and regret it. that's why i choose ps4 over Xbox one, for the future games incoming.

Now it is Xbox One with one more big game (Titanfall). Next week it could be the PS4 with Infamous but you can't get a PS4 anywhere except for Japan. So it is still the X1.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'd still say PS4. I say this because If I could go to the store to buy one again, I'd get the PS4 for a few factor: cheaper, stronger, same multiplats+Injustice, Dead Rising is the only meaningful exclusive XOne has and still doesn't interest me. I don't like driving simulators much and Ryse gameplay doesn't look appealing to me. So yeah, they are both bland when it comes to released exclusives to me.

I'll be getting Titanfall on PC.

And as far as future exclusives. PS4 has this with inFamous, MLB 14, Driveclub, Deep Down, The Order, Uncharted, and Indies.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Why don't get both since money is not an issue...??

You cant go around making sense like that! Do you realize what your doing to the single minded fanboy?

I have both, but the PS4 see's more use even though I have more games for the XBox One. I would say the X1 has more variety of games. My collection looks like this...

PS4: Killzone: SF, Battlefield 4 (most played game), then a bunch of free games either from PS+ or F2P
XBox One: Dead Rising 3, Titanfall, PvZ: Garden Warfare, Ryse, Killer Instinct, Fifa 14 (it was free never plan to play it)

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

I have both. The PS4 definitely runs cooler and quieter. Which is a pretty easy feat, since I haven't played anything on it since November.

My Xbone might break down soon. It's constantly on. Especially since it has to be on to watch TV, but it's nice being able to see what the Xboners are doing while I watch TV. I always find myself conflicted with what I want to snap or do. It's like a gangbang and you don't know which person to bang next.

But yeah.. the future. Get a PS4, for the future and resolution.
