I love the Twitch stream.
I love the randomness.
I love the made up lore.
I love the illistrations/comics it has spawned.
I was there back when we were still under 400 people, watched it climb to over 140,000 at its peak, and am still with it today (9-15k).
At the near conclusion of the Red playthrough I decided to make a competative team based on stream as my own self tribute.
Might be a Joke team, BUT IT'S THE JOKE TEAM WE DESERVE!
Only took a few days but here they are:
Why female? Cause after 3+ hours of breeding and not getting 5IV males but only 5IV females I just settled with a female.
One of 2 (other being Nidoking) that I made in X/Y as it didn't need tutor moves from Gen 5.
Only set that works for Pidgeot, a revenge killer. Thanks Game Freak for buffing her Speed in Gen 6.
All of Pidgeot's abilities suck, Tangled Feet just kinda sucks less than the others.
When the person who ran the stream released the save file of the orginal Red playthrough, people transfered them to Gold/Silver.
They found out AIIIIIIIRRR was the only female, so I tried to keep that accurate here too (minus Pidgeot cause fuck RNG).
Probably the weakest link on the team.
At first I wanted to try a Dragon Dance set, but its just too slow.
Bulky wasn't working for me cause I wanted a tank more, and it really lacks recovery.
Curse seemed the best bet, tho Curse can only breed into it in Gen 5.
Chesto+Rest for one time recovery once it has gotten enough boosts.
Archangel was the only one that existed before I thought up of doing this.
Had to transfer cause I choose Froakie first, so the roaming legendary I got was Moltres.
Looking back this was better anyways cause in Gen 5 he learns Roost at lv 57, in Gen 6 at lv 85 O_o.
Glad I didn't transfer him yet tho, if I did I wouldn't have been able to rename him!
Pretty much the tank of the team (wish I had a dedicated Special Defense tank but Lapras wouldn't cut it).
Nidoking is my favorite pokemon, so making King Fonz was an absolute joy.
The other X/Y breed pokemon on the team.
Was a bit of a pain obtaining as determing who has a Hidden Ability in a horde battle sometimes sucks.
Pretty standard Life Orb + Sheer Force set with amazing coverage. Still needs to learn Sludge Wave.
Once boosted by Venomoth only strong Special Defense tanks like Blissey or strong priority users can take him down.
I actually have 2 AATTVVV's.
The first was a Quiver Dance sweeper I bred in X/Y, but I made a Baton Passer in Black 2 to better support the team.
Works wonders with Nidoking, I've 6-0'd teams online with just these 2.
Wonder Skin is a bit dicey but comes in handy against a lot pokemon looking to use Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave (-50% miss).
Lord Helix was easy to come up with. Shell Smash set for unstoppable godlike power.
Had to make him in Black 2 tho, only way to get Earth Power, and no way was I gonna spend forever breeding Hidden Power Grass.
Weak Armor over Swift Swim cause Rain got nerfed this gen.
White Herb to retain defenses after Shell Smash so priority isn't as much as a problem.
Twitch's playthrough of Crystal is almost over and I already have a planned team for it.
Only change is I won't make another Pidgeot (Brian), and instead revive Togekiss (Omelette).
