Forums - Gaming - Silent Hill or Resident Evil?

My vote goes for Silent Hill.

I am a huge resident evil fan, played them all except the gun survivor one
overall probably my favorite game series as a whole

I'll give Silent Hill better atmosphere, but that's it. I feel Resident Evil is superior in every other way possible. Gameplay, story, heroes, villians, graphics, you name it, they just do it better.

Fatal Frame.

But out of those two, Resident Evil. The only one I've played to completion is 4, but I've played each of the other main-series games (except Code Veronica) for several hours each and they are awesomely scary.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Its tough. For story and creativity:

SH > RE

For gameplay:

RE > SH

For puzzles:

SH > RE

So I guess Silent Hill wins it in my books. Condemned definitely deserves an honorable mention, and for those of you who haven't played it, you should, it is as scary as ANY game I have every played.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

For me, Resident Evil vs Silent Hill is the equivalent of Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher.

Resident Evil all the way.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Two great games that´s for sure but the winner is Resident Evil

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird.
Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

“If any creator has not played Mario, then they’re probably not a good creator. That’s something I can say with 100 percent confidence. Mario is, for game creators, the development bible.
