They might catch up in terms of features but the goodwill lost doesnt come back so easily.
In terms of sales, there is no chance of a catch up with only one region. MS is gonna have to pony up a massive price cut to have a chance.
Xbone is weaker than PS4 in hardware. There is no secret sauce that can fix this. It's like arguing that 1 can eventually be more than 2.

That's another good point. And judging by the previous gen I don't think MS is even willing to support the console with titles as years pass, the way they are doing right now. Brand trust goes a long way.
I don't want an Xbox One. I don't trust Microsoft, Xbox One here in Canada will always have missing features when it comes to the entertainment part of the console, the new franchises they have (Project Spark, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break) don't interest me, I don't play shooters all day and I don't want a camera. Lot of other people have that same opinion worldwide.
I already have an entertainment machine and it's called a PC. My PS4 fills in the gaps.

at this point we are really discussing the US. MS dropped the towel ouside the US from the beginning by focusing on Kinect, TV and NFL.
People are gonna be so disapointed with this insane belief that a DX12 will improve hardware.

This isn't going to be a typical fanboy rant about how the xbox1 is better, or how ps4 sucks. I don't own either system, so I don't care. Everyone will tell you that I just watch anime and kpop videos and play mafia on vgc...I don't even play video games. This is just a compilation of the things I've noticed. 1. DX12: PS4 already has Mantle(piecek) but dx12 is coming probably later this year and will put xb1 on par or better than the ps4 offerings. 3. SDK: Lots of third party devs have said that once they get proper SDKs from Microsoft, there should be an improvement in game quality. I've got to say. With all these things on the horizon, it's hard to imagine what is stopping people from buying xb1 immediately. |
Because it is still $100 more expensive, PS4 games for the most part look and perform better, there is no reason Sony cannot match any of those promised featrures or expected gains on the XB1 platform, and the hardware gap will still be there.

With David being the gamer-supportive Sony and Goliath being the tyranical Microsoft?
I kid :P
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
