Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Is the Titanfall review embargo a bad sign?

As others have mentioned, review embargoes have been getting stricter as time has passed, at least in regards to AAA titles. I think too many people selectively remember the games that received poor scores and erroneously draw conclusions of conspiracy, while forgetting all of the games that received great scores despite having the same embargo restrictions.

Late embargo's can be a problem, *BUT* I don't think Titanfall will review badly... in fact the press have been so positive I cannot see it scoring that badly at all (7's will be the lowest, but most will probably be in the 9's). I mean if they reviewed it badly after all their hype, that wouldn't be good at all... so no I don't see this as a problem.

I suspect with it being online only and them not really detailing what the game is all about content wise, I suspect they are just trying to keep it under wraps for as long as possible.

The press has been extremely positive and i was thinking it that titanfalls meta was going to be in the 88-92 range.  However, all that preview coverage was limited, and this embargo has me thinking that maybe the content just isnt there.  Now im thinking that it will be low 80's maybe.  79-83.  Maybe im just over thinking it though.  Like somebody else said, mass effect 3 had an embargo till the day of and that is my favorite game of all time...

Most games have nda's this is nothing new and means nothing. If they were in the last bit worried they wouldn't have had an open beta. This is getting old

No. It will end great at 85 meta.

15 maps is great for a game that's going to have 3 map packs in the future. Game modes will be added in the future. And there's plenty of weapons that don't all do the same thing.

I guess Respawn saw this thread :)

BTW any bets on how many threads we're gonna get with different reviews and with OP's opinion if the game is doomed or not based on the specific review.
