The funny thing is, I think PC gamers are now more open-minded than console gamers. PC gamers play all kinds of games, from indie to FTP, on all kinds of hardware, from laptops to old eMachines from Wal-mart. Playing on a PC is far more accessible now than it used to be. On the other hand, I see a lot of console gamers put down indie and FTP games while saying that they're only interested in "AAA" titles. The script has gradually flipped.

I think the difference between PC gamers and PC hardware enthusiasts is substantial and something that a lot more people need to recognize.

Still, It's weird how it seems like the PC gamers (You know, the stereotype of teh PC Master Race) are like the white people during segregation...

I think it's more like the rich looking down on the poor.  It reminds me of the French aristrocracy, "let them eat cake," and all that, because the upper reaches of PC gaming really is superior in all measurable ways.  The reason I say that is because those truly fixated on hardware also look down on PC gamers who play on the family Dell.

That makes more sense.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your analogy is incorrect.  I'm just speaking from my own perspective, which is that of a 50/50 console/PC gamer who doesn't much care about resolution or cutting edge hardware.  I play on the PC for reasons other than "graphics" so I don't identify with that "Master Race" stuff on a personal level.

I always smile at the PC master race comments.

It strikes me as a compensating mechanism because they have no place in console discussion and no corporate overlord, aka therefore "no country to fight for". They are nomads, rogues, no flag to stand by but their own, and they claim superiority? Pssssh. Their PC's start up with the Windows logo.....but they totz aren't MS dependent (sigh).

Also, based on stereotypes, it is said that PC gamers are among the most socially inept gamers of us all, so the irony in the Master Race comments is pretty heavy ;P

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

The whole "PC Master Race" is a myth! Most PC gamers don't have computers that's better than PSOne, and they won't have for years.

So they're PC Masturbating to Hentai Peasants?

yeah sure, why not

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Come at me bro.

I gots them all!
