Forums - Gaming - What Art Style Do You Want Zelda U to Be?

Answer!

Realistic 243 63.78%

Cartoony 24 6.30%

OOT 3D 35 9.19%

Skyward Sword 38 9.97%

A Link Between Worlds 5 1.31%

A blend (Post the blend) 34 8.92%

Total:379

I want the fist Zelda on WiiU to be like this:

OR THIS

AND I DONT WANT BLOOM TO FUCK UP THE PICTURE QUALITY LIKE IN WWHD! Bloom is a poor man's 2004 graphics effect.

And the second one to be more like WindWaker or Skyward Sword.  Because cartoony/painting/anime art-style hides aging hardware.

If they want to make a sort of realistic Zelda it would be smart to do it before they make an art-style focused Zelda and before every average joe game looks better than realistic looking WiiU games.

It was really strange to have a gorgeus looking WindWaker in 2003 just to get a "lookes like shit" Twiligh Princess in 2006. All the blurry textures and the realistic look paired with the low resolution made me sad :)

I would also like to someday see something like this:

You know just let the LegoCityUndercover guys make a Zelda based Lego game.
While Nintendo concentrates on the real next installment of the Zelda series.

Quite frankly I would be fine with anything that isnt cartoony.

That is the least of my issues with this series though. There has no meaningful evolution in this franchise since OoT, and Im tired of it. SS pretended it was doing new things but they all up to absolutely nothing with example being being Link's sword/Shield. They took them and degraded them down just to have us work towards something we start with once we aquired them in other games, and because all the sword upgrades are mandatory(pretty sure this is the case) getting them is unfulfilling. Would have been cool if some were optional rewards. Zelda has lost explore/reward satisfaction. I go on an on about why zelda is so stale nowadays but im not a computer.

you don't think 1:1 sword control is an evolution?

The one on my sig.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

The same as the teaser trailer for Wii U.

Seriously, Nintendo has to realise they cant just tease something and then not deliver. People will get angry cause that is what they will expect from it.

I definitly dont want to see another Wind Waker debocle. I loved the game, but its impossible not to be disappointed when you are expecting something different.

Use the new art styles on the second zelda of the gen. On the first one deliver on your promises.

To overuse is just as bad as not using at all. SS had me begging for waggle or even better a regular controller. From my time with the game motion was my biggest grip. Motion was used for everything! Even minor shit like throwing a rock or swinging on vine. That was not necessary. Galaxy is a perfect example of a perfect balance and SS is at the extreme end

you realize I said "SWORD CONTROL", do you? I'm not talknig about every use of motion plus in the game.

now again, you don't think 1:1 SWORD CONTROLS are an evolution?

1:1 sword control is motion silly! You should have been able to get my general opinion from my statement of motion as a whole. The concept of a 1:1 sword is an evolution but the actually execution and reception are where that is actually decided and quite frankly 1:1 sword control of SS was a pain.  It slow, frustrating and unentertaining. So its a yes and no thing. The concept is evolution but Nintendo's execution kills it.
