Should exclusives really be a reason?  Thats the main reason I haven't got one, not enough exclusives.

There are plenty of exclusives actually. Maybe not enough that appeal to you?

Let me see just off the top of my mind, though im sure some Vita fan can give a better list.

Wipeout 2048 - Ok game

Unit 13 - sub par game

Uncharted: Golden Abyss -  Ok game

Tearaway - no idea

Killzone mercenary - almost ok game

Danganrompa Happy trigger havoc - just OK

Ys memories of celceta - been meaning to get this

Curse of the curry god - just OK

Mind 0 - just OK

Danaganrompa 2 - just OK

Ragnarok Odyssey - Ace is on PS3 too so... no

Dynasty Warriors next - sub par

Freedom Wars - no localization confrimation

Muramasa Rebirth (its highly upgraded from the wii version) - still on wii, so, no

Murasaki baby - wut?

Persona 4 : Dancing - dancing? really? 4 golden sold like hotcakes and they decide to give us dancing? Fuk them!

Valhalla knights 3 - uuunngggh!

Silent Hill book of memories - uuunnnggghh!!

Soul Sacrifice/Delta - Lightly above ok, nothing to write home about

Toukiden - slightly above ok, agian, nothing to write home about

God Eater 2, Phantasy Star Nova, Phantasy star online 2, Tales of innocence/Hearts R, Sword Art online, The legend of Heroes Sen no kiseki, Digimon world 4 (if it gets localised) -  with the way vita is selling, none of these will probably get localized EVER

The Vita gets 2-3 games or so a month while the 3DS gets a shyet load of games every month...

If sony could just get some of those games to be multiplat, then there wouldn't be an issue, but NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Sony is letting the Vita die a slow and painful and humiliating death...

I bolded the part you obviously missed.

The 3DS doesnt get much more worthwhile stuff. It certainly did last year, but this year doesnt look as good.

I dont know what else is coming aside Yoshi's island and Layton vs AA. Nintendo needs to announce more stuff (or for the Wii U). They dont have many games coming atm. And ragnarok is still an exclusive at this time (and that version will stay that way). Ace will come out on the Vita aswell.

You reminded me i forgot about Persona 4 golden! Anyways most of those impressions are your opinion and are not fact at all.

best device for quality niche games. probably has the least amount of shovelware too.

Good for you. Dont get one until you can say, "damn, there are more games than I can afford!"

With that rule, I would never buy any console or handheld. ;)

I didn't say "damn, there are more games that I want than I can afford..." lol

The vita, sadly has such a small library of games compared to its closest competitor, the 3Ds that its sad.

I'm going to go against the flow here and say that the PSV does not have a "lack of games" as is the common perception.

I pre-ordered and played for the first year (some great games for the first year of a new system) and eventually stopped using it since I don't really play video games in public when I have some time to kill.

But after the PS4 launch, I had reason to pull it off the shelf again and I can definitely say without doubt that there are far more games for the PSV that spark my interest that I have time to play.

Cross Buy (haven't been seeing much of this lately), Remote Play (fantastic with the PS4) and PSN+ all make the Vita well worth having if you own a PS4 and are a PSN+ subscriber.

BC is another good reason if you like PSP and PSOne games. They look and play better than they did on the original hardware.

As a standalone system... it's still the best handheld gaming device I've ever owned, but the reality is I just don't have any need to carry a portable gaming system with me anywhere. I have an iPhone, and while the games aren't of the same caliber of the PSV's best offerings, that doesn't really matter since the amount of time I spend playing mobile games is usually measured in single digit minutes per day, not hours.

This is very true.

But this goes hand in hand with being such a small niche market device. Shovelware only makes sense on ubiquitous platforms.

If I could boil down the Vita's biggest problem down to one argument, it would be that as good as the device is, it doesn't really have much of an audience in terms of who would want to own one. Hardcore Playstation fans, hardcore gamers who buy everything and can't stop playing games, fans of the small catalog of PSV exclusives... Not really a big market.

Nope. I play a lot of different games but the sad truth is that you can count in 1 hand all the must have games for the PS Vita and everything else you can do without.

The 3Ds may not be getting "worthwhile stuff" but at least its getting a bunch of stuff. I'm one of those who welcome shovelware. More shovelware means that more developers are seeing that the console is a viable platform to get their games on. the platform with the most shovelware tends to sell the most... think PSone, PS2, Wii, DS... yeah... if the Vita ever starts getting a shyet load of shovelware, I'd welcome those crap with open arms...

If you look at metacritic, many if not most of my opinions are in line with what many of the critics are saying... it may be an opinion, but its the majority opinion.

Nintendo needs to get 3rd party on board the Wii U. I'm one of those who could care less about mario, so more 3rd party = better for me. people can say what they like about the WiiU but I'd get me one of those if I had the moneyz.

Loved the 4th point. I guess I'll look into getting one.
