Why not both? Seriously, those "single gaming option" peasants.

Because 2 of the 'reasons' to buy a PS4, are the reasons you should NOT buy a PS4 but a PC instead. The other 3 reasons aren't there IMO. And for your information, I'm console and handheld gamer. I stopped gaming on a PC ages ago.

I have three reasons, the PS1, the PS2 and the PS3. Sony has established a clear pattern of quality consoles with diverse libraries that appeal to me. Until that stop I will trust their two decade track record.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Besides, their first-party is diverse and stronger every time.

Context dude... This is about consoles. And in context of consoles these are valid reasons because it sets the PS4 apart of other consoles.
Without context I would suggest to neither get a PC or a console for entertainment because running around outside is cheaper and has even better visuals than PC.

That's not how I read it (the OP states console/system, a gaming PC is not a system?), but if you want to knitpick sure then the PS4 might be slightly more interesting for those reasons than the X1. Or better, slightly less uninteresting.
And going outside not only has better visuals, it's even healthier (well, depending on where you live) and the real life interaction is much more fun than the share button!

Ok, at least something I can agree with. The X1 is even less appealing. But seriously, he is trolling isn't he? He must be!

For me I'd only need one reason: games. PS4 has none that appeal to me and won't for the forseeable future (The Order at the earliest). If anything, I'll probably get a PS4 eventually just for Madden leagues I am in, as for generations now we have simply went the cheapest route (PS2 since Live was pay, same for PS3, and PS4 is cheaper)).
1. Sounds like you'd love a PC
2. Again, PC FTW in this category
3. Get a Blockbuster card
4. PC
5. All consoles have exclusives

No, not trolling. Is it really so unreasonable to want to talk about gaming on a gaming forum? Apparently so as the Xbox thread was already closed... apparently one the moderators couldn't see it going well, which is a rather sad admission that the Xbox fans can't discuss gaming without flying off the handle; either that or it's a frank admission that they can't come up with any reasons.
To be fair, the PS4 list is a bit of a stretch if I'm honest, while I stand by all of these reasons for buying a PS4 I don't feel these reasons alone justify the price. I'm happy to stay with the PS3 and Wii U, and while my cousin (who has more money than sense as he's got both the PS4 and Xbox One), is enjoying the PS4, I just don't feel it's worth it yet... and I bought a Vita, so that says something.
I realise some people are somewhat bothered by me missing out PC, but as PC isn't a primary gaming system but a computer that does gaming as one of it's many functions it never seemed right to me to include it. That said, I think PC vs. Console is a far bigger and more nuanced discussion than this, (which based on these thread the moderators would probably lock because god forbid someone have an opinion).
Still, this was fun, hopefully the remaining consoles will still spark some interesting discussion.
