There was no way I was touching that particular conversation with a 1,000 foot pole. I'm not going to defend the author; I agree that the author of that article needed to do more research and reflect a lot more before making broad, offensive starements of what Filipino people should do.

But the way the FB people responded is where my concern lies.

 There's no room for checking error or gentle correction. It seems people take things so deeply personally (which isn't inherantly wrong) that they lash out brutally at those who don't know better and resort to personal attacks (which is inherantly wrong IMO), leaving out a lot of people who want to learn but don't want to have to be belittled for not knowing what is and isn't okay...

I don't want to be told to kill myself and to be labeled a vile, insensitive terrible person because I didn't know something wasn't okay at a particular point in time.

II'm sure, but this has apparently been going on for a while in Africa, in various regions as well, but you are complaining about the early settlers, a group that existed for a handful of decades, until they became civilized enough that they didnt need to do that, even in the limited incidents your article mentions.  Face it, the Africans are dangerous1.  The sheer propensity of scams coming out of Nigeria is shocking to say the least2. 

1- Africans never dropped Atomic bombs, countries in Africa never invaded their neighbors to take their natural resources;

   -Democratic countries there never made experiments on their own people... Manchurian experiments by CIA?

  -African countries don't consistently engage in proxy wars and contribution to topple democratically elected government officials.

  -Democratic nations don't have a kill list like US presidents do.

Etc... I could go on and on.

2- Nigerians do have problems, can't negate that. But they have much to learn from Maddof's, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, all the mortgage and lenders industry. Plus there is a scheme called Ponzi, named after a guy that's not Nigerian but  American.  Which, Wall Street proudly carry his banner and promises to keep the tradition going.

Get educated son. Use your internet for stuff other than silly arguments.

Respect others as you like to be respected. We should be at the age of mental evolution in this century... self education.

 Quit pontificating, you try to come across as too cool to be in this discussion when you have involved yourself more than most in here.  And at least Americans don't machete and rape as a means of war.  Africans do these things, and black people came from that, so perhaps this is why black people's crime rates are so bad.

You are missing the point. Even if those statistics were true, which I'm not sure if they are, that be missing the core point of BET. This is a huge lie and you know it. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be on a plane within the hour. I also don't understand you believe every other channel is White People TV. Pretty certain people target genders and ages, meaning humans not color.

The key to the outrage is that we don't need *white television.* How many sitcoms out there have a non-white in the lead role that aren't specifically made to pander to another ethnicity? TV in America is overwhelmingly white, which is why "white TV" would have particular issue.

Now you could get away with "Irish TV" or "Polish TV." Just not "white TV" (WASP TV would probably also catch flak, from non-WASP whites as well as nonwhites)

Slow down there buddy. I hope you're not being serious. White people have used rape in war too at various points in history, and the weapon of war seems pretty irrelevant to me. Crime rates have more to do with economic status and education than genetics. I don't pretend to be an expert, but I feel like pointing fingers at genetic history to explain problems is just gonna get you called racist. It's culture that's dangerous, not genetics. Genes can't make you rape, but a culture that doesn't teach that rape is wrong would. Genes might make you more aggressive, but won't inherently make you kill. Being raised in a culture that doesn't value human life could do that. That much is just common sense. Blame culture, not color, not genes. Not trying to be an ass, I'm just saying, think about where it really comes from.
