Sure. They can compare the boosts in UK with the boost in US and see if their is a significant difference.
It adds valuable data either way.
However can't European stores set their own prices, or is that excluding UK?

That includes UK, UK is probably the best place in Europe for seeing price cuts on gaming stuff, alot of EU gamers still import from UK on software.

Have places already dropped the price to 399? That'd be a good sign it's not a test.

Price cut comes into effect in 2 days, most are just doing pre orders for that, many places had already done £10-£20 discounts on and off before the official price cut.
The price cut in 2 days is £399 without titanfall, so i cant imagine there will be a sales bump as youd have to be crazy not to wait 2 weeks to get a game as well
Xbox fan response.
"no".
lol. Ok how is it not?
And don't give me the burden of proof argument. It works two ways.
The theory is that ms is using UK to test how a price cut would affect demand in the US.
You don't just "correct" pricing for the sake of it. You have giant business strategies basing all decisions with reason. You don't just say "this will help sales". There are graphs, board meetings, predictions, etc.
Some of you act like this is a business run out of a basement selling cupcakes.
Or...do you REALLY not think a price-cut is on the horizon? Everything is pointing to a price-cut worldwide in the near future if things don't change.
I was very nice in the OP, but it's time to face facts, it's getting pounded. We're seeing rumors about kinect-less sku's. Rumors about price drops. The "next CoD" getting bundled. NO word on release in other countries.
Everything points to an e3 rebranding, price-drop, restatement of dedication to kinect. Complete overhaul. You deny this, and you will be in for a surprise. Quote me.

Brilliant. When will it be sold would you say? How long will they give it? presumably if sales dont pick up in a few week its game over then? Why do you repeatedly make this rash staements that come back to bite you on the arse. |
I think it matters to people to be right about a huge prediction, at risk of being wrong from time to time.
My prediction won't be wrong however.

I still think they're going to lose money on this. People who want Titanfall would've gotten the console regardless of the price. So I don't think the price cut will noticeably boost sales. I guess it's more about the media buzz.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

If sales don't pick up to a targeted level that MS is hoping for, then they will let the board start investigating the possibilites of a sale and start approaching possible buyers. A sale could happen in 2014.
