how is that whole PlayGo thing working out?

infamous is just around the corner now so i'm expecting to buy a ps4 soon.   the only question i have is whether or not to upgrade my HD.  500Gb seems like,..  not enough.  I do intend to buy most (if not all) of my games digitally.  I already buy most of my games digitally on ps3 and i ran out of space on my 500Gb drive ages ago.  if i am to upgrade my HD i'd like to do it day one.  the whole transfer thing on ps3 was a pain in the ass.

so is it worth buying a massive drive?  i mean, even 1 or 2 Tb really won't last that long.  might buy me an extra year or 2 but certainly won't hold all of the games i'll buy this gen.

..or is this PlayGo thing working out well?  should i just say fuck it and deal with deleting and re-downloading games?

i've tried to check articles but i don't see much of anything about the whole PlayGo stuff.  any perspective from those downloading stuff would be appreciated.

Everyone will have that problem since all games are installed. The question is how many games do you need concurrently on your system. I bought a 1TB drive and that will probably be enough for the whole generation. Including smaller games at least 30 games should fit on that. With a 2TB drive you can hold even more. Do you need that many?
Considerung that you don't have to download everything completely before you can start playing it.

well, i have about 100 on my ps3 right now.    ..obviously more than i can play at one.   but even though i'm "done" with LBP 2 i really like that i can go back to it at a moments notice.  also, the download list for ps3 is a fucking mess.  i have over 2000 things flagged in there making it next to impossible to find that 1 game i want to redownload.  as it stands, if it isn't on my harddrive it bascially doesn't exist.   that's kind of okay when i have 100 games on my ps3.   ..but if i can only fit 20 on my ps4 that's much less acceptable.

I can understand that but 20 is a bit on the low end. I think games with more than 40GB space will be the exception rather than the norm.

If you are that concerned you should definitely upgrade right away since all install data will be lost when you upgrade the drive(unless they change the process). You can't really do anythng though other than buying the biggest drive available.

You can only hope that they will upgrade the firmware to the point where you might be able to compress older games so that they don't take up that much space or even be able to connect an external drive.

i mean, that's exactly what i'm considering.   ..but that adds at least another $100 to the purchase.   so the question comes down to "is it worth it?" or is things like PlayGo make the delete and redownload process palatable?

I admit I had to google what you mean with PlayGo. Didn't nkow the process had a name.

It all depends on your tolerance. You can play soon after you start download but that differs from game to game and is up to the developers and how they structure the game. It could end that way that devs just decide to be lazy and don't optimize for early play. Also you won't be able to play them if your internet is slow or Sony's servers are down for maintenance. So for someone who says that the comfort of knowing that you can play any game any time is very important getting a big drive seems the only solution.

See it as an investment to avoid future hassle.
