We always get numbers from Japan on wednesday, whats changed that we'll get it on monday or tuesday?

He means if Sony announces PS4 numbers early because of the launch.

Well numbers still arent announced, if no announcement is made and no 500k were sold he was lying.

They made them wait and still had hardly any games for the market. It's not surprising to say the least.

I don't think this really means anything at this point. We need to see numbers before anything can be said.

I don't think this means anything. It all depends on the shipment number. Sony could have shipped a million PS4s and sold 800k and there'd be plenty left. Or they could have shipped 100k and sold only 10k, and there'd be plenty left. We'll have to wait and see the numbers, this indicates nothing other than Sony was able to supply enough to meet demand.

This is really the only reasonable way to look at things at this point.

Given my weekly estimate around 275k/week manufactured, we roughly have: First week January flown in for December, 2nd week to NA, 3rd week Rest of World, we have 4th week reserved for Japan launch. February is a three week manufacturing month (Chinese New Year), so I'd say 50k first two weeks held back. Which gives around 370-400k units for Japan for February. Hence don't expect any numbers even close to half a million...

People just have insanely high predictions.

You expect it to do on par with GC and Xbox? Less than twice as good as PS3 too. If WiiU and Wii could sell over 300k, PS4 can do it as well. I also think PS4 had a bigger shipment than all of the above, except PS2 probably.

GC and OG XBOX are for three days. Also my prediction was just based on stats and calculations. It's not what I think, but what the numbers show.
