Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft gives select Xbox One owners a glimpse of the future

Microsoft just released the first major update for the Xbox One last week, but if you’d like to get your hands on the next update before anyone else, check your Xbox Live messages. Microsoft announced today on the Xbox Wire that select Xbox Live members will be invited to test the update before it rolls out to the public, giving Microsoft a chance to gather feedback and correct any mistakes.

If you are chosen to participate, you will receive a token on Xbox Live that you can register to receive the update next week. Participants will be given access to a private forum where they will be able to share their experiences with the update, give feedback and decide whether to opt out of future update previews or stick with the program.

The March update is going to focus on multiplayer improvements, specifically the party and chat systems that have many Xbox One owners scratching their heads. If you aren’t invited to try the update early, don’t fret — Microsoft wants to push the update out before the release of Titanfall on March 11th, so either way you won’t be waiting long.

You know what would be a nice update for Microsoft? If Microsoft updated the drivers in Windows to be compatible with the X1 controller! If they did that, I would gladly go out and buy the controller and give them money, but no... :(

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

A public beta for a system update? That's new. Wonder if it's the start of a tradition, or if this update just has a lot of iffy things.

From the title I thought they were showing .people the future of X1 like info on illumiroom or something...

Illumiroom if cheap enough, could be a game changer. Easy way to cheapen it up, is to make The projection system a add on to Kinect. This way people could slide it together and the only piece they would be paying for is the projection. I think this would be genius.

 projectors can come as cheap as 300 and up but can be cheapened if you only need a connection for your Kinect and or Xbox one. All other options can be run by the Xbox One and cheapen the cost by only putting the minimal amount on the projector and allowing the Xbox one to do the rest.

Or just get rid of the kinect completely and bundle illumiroom . We don't need kinect, there is a controller and media remote now. :D
