This thread will use the weekly VGChartz Data, and will be updated with the latest available data every week. I aim to measure "the cumulative market share between XB1 and PS4 only", starting from the first week of 2014. The previous was a bit too noisy with initial launch, stock issues etc. So it's better to start after the dust settles down a bit.

I'm also comparing the current cumulative market share, and the trends with my original estimates (should be common knowledge by now, also available in my signature). I want to keep this original post away from any subjective opinion etc but just concentrate on pure objective numbers.

Why is Xbox One considered a "True Next Gen" console, but the WiiU is not? Just basing your perception off of your thread title...

I have no intention for such controversy, and I am not including WiiU, not because there is anything wrong with it but because I see it on a different race, and also because I don't have enough information and interest to include in it.

In order to be politically correct, I edited the thread's title. Again, I am not seeking controversy and there is nothing wrong with the WiiU. It's just not interesting to me at this point, that's all. Let's now be civil and without controversy please.

If you look at my posts, you'll see that I usually categorize the Nintendo consoles separately. Last Gen, I categorized them as "HD Consoles" and "Wii, and this gen, for convenience, I tend to categorize them the "Hardcore Consoles" and "WiiU". This comparison regards the hardcore consoles only.
