Forums - Gaming - SEGA's Shenmue trademark gets cancelled cause they don't use it...

Wonder how many of the people that clamber on about Shenmue have actually played it. Kinda weird how that happens. If you go and play Shenmue on Dreamcast right now then you'd think it's almost unplayable and the storyline wouldn't pull in most.

*Sigh* Sega really knows how to disappoint one of their biggest fans. I spoke with Microsoft's Phil Spencer and tried to convince him to fund Shenmue 3 as an Xbox One exclusive, but he didn't seem too interested unfortunately. I fear Shenmue 3 may never see the light of day.

You went to the wrong company. MS only cares for the big bucks.

Sony  with the interest show by cerny may be the best bet.

Finally, I can release my Shenmue 3 indie project without being afraid of SEGA cutting my fingers off!

...but I won't. Instead, it'll be a very limited physical release in Japan.

Was goint to post this yesterday but then I realized its just in the US so EU or Japan still have their ShenMue's

It is good in the same way that Sonic Adventure 1 is still good today.

Both haven´t aged very gracefully, but you can feel that Shenmue had a soul and tried to do something differently.

....so kind of yes, but the modern ADHD crowd expecting GTA in japan would be very disappointed.

Edit: If you can find it for cheap, I´d say try it out, just don´t be hesitant to use a guide....it can get rather obtuse at points.

So when do Starfox and F-Zero trademarks get cancelled?
