Pokemon White 2 had shades of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl which was meh.

White 1 had a really great storyline which was why rating is a bit higher than White 2's.

Also the characters, it was like transition from FFX to FFX-2.

White/Black were some of the most linear Pokemon games ever, in my opinion. White 2/Black 2 really expanded upon the Unova region and the story seemed a little more "epic." Although no Pokemon game has ever actually been epic...

I can't remember the characters very well... so yeah, I guess they were forgettable.

All of the Pokemon games were linear (until their post game).

And how dare you talk about Lord N like that you bish :O

-No image, you derp!-

ok ok they made him lame in the 2nd game but he was a badass in the first game. Who else can say they took out the Elite 4 and the Pokemon League!

Okay, okay. But, White/Black might as well have been a straight line. That's it.

I was meaning W2/B2 characters were forgettable, W/B ones weren't as much.

You know all my pros and cons from our lengthy X/Y discussions, so I'll leave it at that.

Great review, with a lot of detailed pros and cons. I still can't believe they left the post game that bare. :(

And damn you really loved Gen 5 xD

5th gen was good especially the first one but the second one fell apart.

Pokemon games overall are great imo :P.

Pokemon games are my fav, so none of them are bad IMO. All main series games for me are at least a 9.

So is all the 2D parts (3D Disabled parts) of the game really just 1 big open world?

And if so, then How does its open world compare to Lego City Undercover?

I have played the game for 16 minutes and since you need at least firmware 6.X just for the Patch, and at least Firmware 7.0.0-13 for Patch 1.2, I told Nintendo that they could make a Patch that enables 3D for the Open World, since even older firmwares could handle the game with 3D easily. And I told Nintendo I won't play my picked up pre-order copy of Pokémon Y (I love Mega Mewtwo Y, and the Y legendary, but I also like Mega Charizard X) for 18 months unless they make a new Patch that enables 3D in the Open World, since just to download the first Patch require accessing the eShop which had require at least Firmware 6.X just to access the eShop just to get the Patch. Nintendo said they will consider it and pass my e-mail to everyone at Nintendo that can do something about it. Nintendo also beg me to play the game (even though I already purchase it and picked it up and they knew it, LOL but true).

pokeman at last!

Where is the con for the games brain dead difficulty and monotonous 20 hour single player trek?  In Pokemon's case.  Shouldn't "a very lengthy storyline" be a con rather than a pro.  Same poor storyline yet again, but it drags on and on and on.

One pro I would add though is how each gym is unique.  The coolest part in the game.  One gym was Uncharted-like, another gym was a sort of maze, another gym had you guessing the pokemon to proceed without battling, etc.

The bottom of the chart seemed lonely and I couldnt help myself.

I played Red and Blue in 1997 on the gameboy and thats the only one. Hell, after reading your review I might just give it a shot.

The 3 Ds

Damn Dat Dedication

LOL, but it's a fair request seeing that the first Patch needs access to the eShop at a time when firmware 6.X was needed to access the eShop. Even Firmware 5.0.0-11 could handle Pokémon X & Y's Open Wold with 3D enable & on, smoothly.

Anyways, can you answer my 2 questions.

I generally agree with the review - but giving White 2 lower than White!? You're mad.
