Forums - Gaming - will elder scrolls online flop?

Do these subscription fees have to be so high?
Would games like FFXIV and WOW keep a lot more subscribers if they would lower the fees?
Or is it all calculated and do they need the actual fees as they are set right now. You can't tell me blizzard is having a hard time making money off of wow. Even without the 4 million or so subscribers they lost over the years.

My problem with it is that they don't stop with the subscription fee. I prefer subscription mmorpgs for the sole reason it's a fair playing ground, but then to have extra benefits exclusive to those who pay extra? That's a staple of ftp games, not p2p.

I expect it to bomb.

A monthly sub almost 3 times as expensive as PS+ just to be able to play ONE game online is a bloody joke.

Most likely.

I like MMOs but have little desire to play this one. I will need a demo of sorts before committing.

yes it will

I love the idea of the game, but i think it's going to have a few problems. If you have to pay for PSN plus/xbox live to play the game online and a subscription service, then that's going to be to much to ask for alot of people. I'm not sure if mmo's on consoles can work. It's one of the few genere's were your forced to rely on people to advance. your only as good as the people playing online. I personally kind of hate that. then, there's probably going to be a bunch of micro transcations. With all of that, just playing the dam game is probably going to be expensive as hell. Am,I the only one with these thoughts and concerns???

I think it will flop hard initially, but when it goes free-to-play a couple of months after launch, it will thrive.

As long as its good, it will have the potential to be a success.

Oh yes it will. Big time.

The game isnt an Elder scrolls games except in name.

The more accurate name for it would be "bad WoW clone with an Elder Scrolls interface".

worry not, the game will be F2P within a few months. The problem is that then it wont be worth it to even play anymore cause without sub model theres no worthwhile content support and the game dies a slow painful death.
