This seriously has to be an early April fools day joke, right? What in hell would Amazon do with them?

The funny thing would be if it was purchased by Nintendo or Sony though...

Amazon is the only company besides google and apple able to pull it off. Not because of money but the massive media industry behind them.

in my opinion Disney would pull it off, probably even better as well.

Disney has dropped their retail-videogame presence almost entirely.

Their own studios are all about smartphone games now.

...they aren´t even interested

Yes, I know that you were talking about an imaginary scenario

Interesting. Doesn't sound likely but I would be happy either way.

amazon is very powerful in retail.

awful news for Sony and ninty if true....

Lol, hardly.  Right now is a very poor time to purchase the Xbox brand, as it has diminished going into this gen, and sales prove it.  I really wish people would get off this whole "a company has much  more money than another, so obviously it will win" mentality.  By now, people should realize that means jack all to consumers.  MS has already thrown tons of money at the One and ads for it, yet that hasn't changed anything.  What is Amazon doing the same going to change?  Amazon has spent money on many other sites/businesses that have failed.  It's the same as MS throwing money at their products, it doesn't change people's minds if they don't want a product, like Zune and their tablets.

Edit: The bold is also the reason people thought the One would be more powerful, as Sony couldn't afford it, and why the One could easily take the US and UK.  Look at how that turned out.

The thing is Amazon doesn't even have much money. They barely profit every quarter. The last thing they would do is burn money.

That is actually excellent news for Xbox if it turns out to be true. Amazon is an excellently run company. Though i have my doubts they have any interest in the Xbox One itself. I think they would be more interested in the software studios and R&D for their new Android system.

Amazon isnt a dumb company. They wouldnt find themselves with a failure in their hands.

For example Samsung couldn't do it.

don't underestimate samsung can handle the divison because mobie gaming and integrate that with xbox but we don't know if it be sucess or failure because nintendo situation now.

What would Sony or Nintendo buying the xbox brand achieve? The people in charge of the xbox division need to learn from their mistakes like SCE did.

Amazon might handle xbox brand more efficiently instead of microsoft.
