Forums - Gaming - Which console is the most popular in your country? (All gens included)

Back in Haiti. PlayStation 2 is still the preferred console. Weirdly though everyone referes to consoles as "the Nintendo".

WiiU currently, but mainly because it's the only 8th gen console out here in japan.

You should know.
My country's sales figures are right on the main page.

Chile, Playstation, everyone of them except maybe ps3 where it started slow but by mid generation it had more space than x360, which could be hacked, and Wii, which was the fad and could also be hacked.

Now, Sony is doing an awesome job here with PS4 and PS3

Edit: The most popular one in history has to be PS2, specially since you could hack it and almost nobody bouth original games. Seems like economy growth people are willing to spend a few bucks on original games, even if its FIFA, COD or PES

We also have "La play/ El play" way of discribing it. I guess very old people still call videogames "El Nintendo"

You are from Argentina? Wow that's cool! I thought we where very few here!

Anyway what you said is the truth. Paying for games is something weird here. Why pay for it when you can pirate it!

Don't you worry. We will slow but steadily take over VGChartz. Then the internet. Then the world. Choripanes para todos y todas.

Brazil: PS2 and Master System.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Chile, since I have use of reason all the playstation family, guess because always had the most extense library of games. I would say the least popular is the xbox brand nowadays and the xbox 360 was easily the most hacked this gen. The piracy and used games of PS and Nintendo is less strong now, which is good thing.

For China I would say that NES(or the clones rather) were very popular, and Nintendo most likely has been the most popular as a whole. In recent years/generations the PS2, Wii and PS3. And my safe bet is that PS4 will be the most popular here this generation. Probably Wii U as second.

If I include PC for the past three generations it would probably look something like this.

01. PC
02. PC
03. PC
04. PC
05. PC
06. PC
07. Clones or no-brand consoles
08. PS2
09. PS3/Wii
10. Wii/PS3

And if I list brands, and include all generations and PC.

01. Random PC brand
02. Random PC brand
03. Random PC brand
04. Random PC brand
05. Random PC brand
06. Random PC brand
07. Random PC brand
08. Clones or no-brand consoles
09. Nintendo
10. Sony

Playstation brand, in general: PS2>PS3>PS1; however, in far second is the Xbox brand where it is making somewhat of a stride due to the overhyped product that was the Kinect. Project Natal was amusing still, looking back.

Not too sure about consoles but PSPs are plaguing Jamaica like an infestation.
