I bought NFS: Rivals last weekend to give me something to play until Infamous/TES:Oline/FFXIV ARR come to take my gaming time. I have not played an arcade racer since like Cruisen World... its been a while I use stick with Mario Kart and Gran Tourismo.
While the game has a few flaws (rival cars and police occansionally spawn right in from of you as you are going 180mph causing you to wreck) it is very fun and for an arcade racer has alot to do and has alot of the depth to the gameplay. I see this one having a ton of replay value as you can do a full career as a racer or as a cop(actually you do have to choose you can swap between career at your leisure depending on how you feel like playing).
Online is fun. You careerr can take place in an oline room with 5 other people some who are cops some who are racers.... When I first started this human who was playing as a cop (he was cleary very experianced) was busting me left and right but you can switch rooms at anytime so if you run into this that is always an option. Now I know of to play and have the controls down its fun as heck behind hunted by a skilled human cop.
Anyways I would recommend you guys this one a try. If you usually dont like racers a rent might be a good idea but if you like racers or sandbox style games in general I would say buy seeing that if you want to beat both career paths and upgrade a few cars fully you are looking at 60+ hours of gameplay.
